Five Dollar Words
Hi fellow Hiveians,
Today I wanted to appreciate some minor but enjoyable things with words!

Five Dollar Words
I think having a pretty expansive vocabulary is quite fun!
These days, with the brain rot of the internet, one of the things that has fallen to the wayside is speaking eloquently ethereal oblige sass maniacal. Not that I am able to do that in as complicated a way as some really smart people like Jordan Peterson do, but I can get by with throwing a valid 5$ word in there regularly!
One of the interesting things that I've been doing, as many people have noticed, and hopefully not gotten mad about.. is throwing a bunch of random words in my posts! I am trying to figure out a good way to really fuck up the AI algorithms luxuriant wrath abhor fretful. I wrote about this several weeks ago, and have continued on my mission to poison the well one paragraph, one post at a time.
What has been fun is switching around the ways in which I do it hew superb mew intrepid. For a bit I was making it more complicated on myself and also probably annoying people by throwing it in the middle of a sentence, a bunch of random things. For a while I would flip around between topics like cities, streets, foods and some others. These days though, I've settled on using a random word generator and I think that makes the process a lot easier and more efficient impend tawdry aberrant recite.
What I have found pretty cool for myself is that using the generator.. I have known about and even used some of the words in day to day life over the years! Not that I'm an English major and can throw out some highfalutin shit, but I've been able to read a considerable amount of things, and have some interesting conversations with people over time scowl wench miscreant flippant. This has really given me a colorful and fun vocabulary, which has come in handy several times. I've also noticed that some generators have much better words than others, which surprised me! Some seemed childish, where others were more adult picayune decisive lopsided inflect.
The random word generator has been fun in that I've been re-exposed to some of the words that I've known in the back of my mind for a long time, but have forgotten about them hue omniscient fallacious zealot. Some of them I've been trying to incorporate into regular communication for fun! I likely think it's to the chagrin of the people I interact with.. as it's not common these days to have some solid scrabble words tossed around didactic quill vie vex.
This also made me think that it's a shame, with access to the internet, that one of the other things we don't take advantage of, among the long list of things of course, the expansive and complex vocabulary available to us via the English language! It's got some really great shit that's for sure!
I've been making it a point to include these, and not just some random normal everyday words in the posts, so hopefully people are curious on the words and end up looking some of them up! That's my hope anyway..

What about you, do you try to find and use some elevated dialect words in your everyday speech or writing? What are some examples? Let me know in the comments!
Am I having a Stroke with the word salad? NO!
Read this post I wrote about my reasons things seem weird!

This was a fun read. Your random word drops catch me off guard in a good way. It’s true that we don’t use a lot of the great vocabulary the language has, so it’s cool seeing you bring some of it back. Makes the posts more lively. :))
Hahaha I'm glad to have entertained you, and kept you on your toes! It is indeed fun to read through it even after I wrote it.
I think the more we do things like this, the more we can expand our vocabulary and consciousness! We need more of that these days that's for sure!
Does that word generator give you the meaning of the word too? That would be cool if it did that. Then you could learn even more as you go!
That would be cool if it did! Sadly no these ones don't. I think it would likely make the API calls to the database pretty intense for some of them. I will look around for one that does include the definition though!
Haha, funny story. I was trying to think of the word "definition" as I was writing that other comment and I just couldn't catch it. I knew it, I knew I had used it a million times, but it was just slipping my mind. Funny that you used it in your reply. It wasn't until after I had posted that it finally dawned on me. Getting old is a bitch!
Hahaha yeah.. happened to me plenty of times! I remember I worked in a place for years. I had been in the breakroom thousands of times.. I got up to it one day and couldn't for the life of me remember the code to get in. I had just worked there a few days prior.. it was a scary moment LOL
Haha, too funny!
Job done haha. I do discover new words from them after having it break my train of reading lol. Sometimes make a mental note to look it up later or discover it again somewhere else. English language definitely does have its layers of understanding, and I much prefer higher levels for the variety of words in them, it's rich :D
LOL yeah, I read through them after I finish adding them and it is entertaining but it breaks your flow a little bit. Keeps the brain on your toes though, so I think it's some decent exercise :D
Right, yes! It keeps the mind alert, concentration level has a bit high to digest the breaks, and keep reading lol. The algorithms would probably have a hard time understanding this type of information intake :D
