Experimental Edit Enjoyment

Every now and then I like to push the envelope a little bit in my photos!

I don't think I would say that I'm any type of artist or anything, but that I am just one that likes to monkey around and click buttons! Click buttons, I for sure do LOL

I think my fascination with exploring and messing around with things in life has really been a lot of fun, and it's gotten me pretty far in life that's for sure. I've gotten some pretty interesting things done in life with my sense of curiosity which is great!

One of the things I like to do is explore new or different ways to do things. It doesn't always need to be something as cool or interesting as transforming the photos I take into the different presets that come with the GIMP photo editing software, but that is for sure an enjoyable one in the personal side of life.

I think one of the things that interests me with these types of software is that they have SO many different nooks and crannies to them. I suspect Photoshop sort-of does as well, but these days Photoshop is far more "enhance with AI" than it is to develop algorithms and see if people like them such as what the Open Source crowd does. I'm far more interested in that stuff than just letting some AI do it for me, fuck 'em!

One of the funny things about the whole process as well is that my computer doesn't handle it all very well hahaha. It does okay that's for sure, but it was a struggle bus with some of the photo editing and waiting for it to process. I suspect that's because it's just a regular work computer with on-board video card instead of a nice beefy GPU. That's okay though, because it does what I need it to do, and that's all I really want so that I don't need to spend more money unnecessarily.

Seeing the output of them though is cool! There are a lot of names, and I made sure to name the photo the edit version of what it came from in case I want to try and use it later for something else. I think one of the things that I made the mistake of with past edit experiences is that I didn't name the damn photo something that I would be able to remember and come back to later hahaha oops.

I think what's cool as well is that these are all the same photo. You can see how the algorithm interpreted things differently for each one. Don't ask me for what the algorithm did, because that is hopeless for me. I do know however that some of them are for sure cooler than others!

For example the one above this text here is pretty cool, in that it "sharpened" the water and things of that nature. It didn't just adjust the colors, but instead made the whole thing stand out a lot more which is pretty dope I think.
