Today I wanted to appreciate hitting a bit of a milestone.. on the chain!

Crossing 50

Hitting 50 is a weird feeling!

There are for sure certain milestones that happen in life, whether in the physical or digital realm, that just make you reflect back and potentially find some strangeness! For me, I recently hit one of those and it's an odd feeling!

I've finally crossed 50k staked Hive Power!! Holy shit that is a weird thing to say, that I am halfway to 100k Hive Power. I am also fairly closer to "Orca" status instead of dolphin. Does it make things cooler? In some ways, hell yeah! My curation rewards are off the chain bitches! LOL

In seriousness though.. whenever I write about things like this I always refer back to my first starting on the chain. I have screenshots of my account with ZERO Hive Power and a little bit of delegation. Those days were pretty wild, in that they feel like they are FOREVER ago. It's strange that it's only been 7 years since that time? I know there are other people who have done it way faster in different ways, but for me, I like how I do things in my own right.

I think that's also one of the really important things about Hive. There is no one "formula" for how to build a stake and a profile on here. There are many dozens of ways to do things, and each of them are very much unique in their own right! Could I have built my account up faster? Sure! At this point, does it matter THAT much? Well not really, not for me.

I know a bunch of the old peeps, old in a colloquial way of course, that are certainly improving their stake on the platform but moreso enjoying the interaction and things that are going on on the platform. This is what keeps us coming back day in and day out; the people that make this place up!

I think one of the important things for me is that I've adapted and change a lot over the years, even more so with the consistency in writing hive posts for scheduling. Some say scheduling is retarded, but oh well. We all have things that we like to do in order to participate, and scheduling posts is for sure one of my strategies in that it takes the pressure off of me for having to write and publish it the same day. This helps me with my thought flow because we all know that some days are just a cluster fuck and don't go at all the way we intended them to go. Having the flexibility of making up for those days in the near future, or compensating for them in the past, is an important element for me.

With crossing 50k Hive Power, one of the things I have for sure noticed in the last few months is that I am earning more and more of my Curation rewards and less and less of my Author rewards. A better balance between them could be cool in that I get some more rewards on the author side, but I can't complain about anything I'm getting in that I know it's pretty decent! I am more interested in building my stake so that I can give out more votes to the people I am interested in, as well as the new people that come across my radar and don't get rid of all their fucking stake. Gotta put our money where our mouth is in that regard!

I will continue to just post and comment away though, getting past the milestone and looking down the tunnel towards my next one: Orca!
