Today I wanted to talk about how it's important to balance the various possibilities that we have here on the Hive ecosystem!

Balancing Rewards and Opportunities

I've definitely enjoyed the rewards that I've managed to accumulate here on the Hive ecosystem. That has allowed me to grow considerably in the areas of Hive Power, liquid Hive and HBD. What it also allows me to do, which is something I would like to be able to do more often, is to get a chance to invest in side projects!

I can't always keep up with the various side projects that get spun up in the various areas of the ecosystem but when I do, I'm glad that I find ones that generally do well in the long run! What am I talking about? I'm talking about the DBOND token sale!

I don't know much about DBOND yet, but it's one of the pet projects of the awesome dudes at @brofund so I know that it's something I want to get in on, and getting in on it early is a fantastic thing when you can do it. I am incredibly lucky for the stake that I've got in BRO, LEGION and some of their other assets in the group. This has given me some decent liquid rewards in the form of weekly, monthly or quarterly payouts to my wallet (I don't know how often they do the various ones, it's hard for me to keep track of it all LOL) which always end up getting powered up or transferred to the Basic Income group for some sponsorships.

When I found out about the latest DBOND release, I knew that it was something I immediately have to hop on! I am lucky in that I've been saving up a decent amount of liquid Hive and HBD so that I was able to shave off some of those in order to snag 100 of the asset and see where things go in the future.

This is a great thing to be able to do, because I know not everybody is able to dedicate a decent amount of Hive to such things, at least not those who aren't considerably stronger in their Hive assets. I like to be able to dabble in ones here and there, to see how things go and get some fun and early access to things that could appreciate quite well over time. Will I get my funds back over the long run? Certainly! Do I hope to make more off it than I put in? Well of course we do, but that's the gamble. It could take years to earn back what we put in but that's okay for me. As I posted the other day, I'm treating the Hive ecosystem here like an IRA in that I don't plan on doing anything besides reinvesting in the various sections to make incremental gains over time, that may add up quite nicely in the long term future!

I was a little dismayed to take some funds away from my Power Up Day liquidity but this was something that I didn't want to miss. Power Up Day will still get some liquid Hive added to the bag, but when we are able to blend it with spending it on things we would like to support and powering up, that's one of the best kinds of asset diversity I can have. It's important to be diversified as much as we can, so that we can watch some gambles appreciate while others crash right into the mountain. That's okay though, because if everything was a winner then nobody would really be doing anything. The roller coaster effect of seeing the highs as well as the lows, makes it so that we can form a balanced approach to these situations and hopefully come out better on the other side.

I plan on keeping my eye on DBOND to see where things go, but if it's anything like BRO, that's staying in my wallet for the long haul!
