Drinking coffee has always been something I've done for the enjoyment it causes me. It's a whole religious experience. Seeing the dark color of the liquid, the vapor, the bitter taste, is a delight for the senses. However, in the story I'm going to tell you today, I wasn't looking for any of that.

Anyone who has ever participated in festivals knows that the programs move so fast that there is hardly time for rest. This happened to me a few days ago in Santa Clara while I was participating in a choir festival. From the moment I arrived they bombarded me and my companions with activities. As I accumulated several days of tiredness, my body began to respond.

While I was in a workshop I felt dizzy and had sweating. A hypertensive colleague had his blood pressure taken, and since I thought I was in the same state I went to have the same done to me. I was surprised to see that my blood pressure was not high, but low. My elders practically forced me to go for coffee, so I went there with a colleague who was the same as me.

Luckily, the cafe we chose was across the park. The attention was excellent and fast. We both ordered cappuccino, because it also brings cinnamon, which could also help us stabilize blood pressure. Needless to say, it was a wise choice, because the quality of the coffee did not disappoint us.

While sipping my coffee I took a picture of my partner who was distracted. When I showed it to her we both ended up laughing because we both looked like zombies. Anyway, it didn't take long for the coffee to take effect and we were soon able to rejoin our activities.

I had never been forced to drink coffee before, and now I add another experience that makes me glorify it, because this time it practically became my lifeline.

Tomar café siempre ha sido algo que he hecho por el disfrute que me provoca. Es toda una experiencia religiosa. Ver el color oscuro del líquido, el vapor, el sabor amargo, es todo un deleite para los sentidos. Sin embargo en la historia que les contaré hoy no estaba en busca de nada de eso.

Quien alguna vez ha participado en festivales sabe que los programas se mueven tan rápido que apenas hay tiempo para el descanso. Así me sucedió hace pocos días en Santa Clara mientras participaba en un festival de coros. Desde el momento que llegué me bombardearon a mí y a mis compañeros con actividades. Al acumular varios días de cansancio, mi cuerpo comenzó a responder.

Mientras estaba en un taller sentí mareos y tenía sudoración. A un compañero hipertenso le tomaron la presión, y como pensé que estaba en el mismo estado fui para que me hicieran lo mismo. Grande fue mi sorpresa al ver que no tenía la presión alta, sino baja. Mis mayores prácticamente me obligaron a que fuera a tomar café, así que allí fui con una compañera que se encontraba igual que yo.

Por suerte, el café que elegimos estaba al cruzar el parque. La atención fue excelente y rápida. Ambos pedimos cappuccino, pues también trae canela, cosa que también podría ayudarnos a estabilizar la tensión arterial. De más está decir que fue una elección acertada, pues la calidad del café no nos decepcionó.

Mientras sorbía de mi café le tomé una foto a mi compañera que se encontraba distraída. Cuando se la mostré ambos terminamos riendo pues los dos parecíamos zombies. De todas formas no tardó mucho el café en hacer efecto y pronto pudimos reincorporarnos a nuestras actividades.

Jamás me había visto obligado a tomar café, y ahora sumo otra experiencia que me hacen glorificarlo, pues esta vez se convirtió prácticamente en mi salvavidas.
