Today is the birthday of the most important person in my life. Thanks to her I am here today, and not only for the fact that she carried me in her womb for 9 months, but until today she has provided me with the right spaces to grow and develop.

My mom is a very strong woman. It might seem like a cliché rating, but I myself am a witness to how many times she has gone through various complications and has not given up. I know that the source of her energy is my brothers and I, that's why one day I would like to repay her for all the effort she has made for us. For now, I try to be a good son, being responsible and educated as she taught me.

There are many things about her personal history that I have not been able to get to know. I also have things that I keep to myself. One thing I want to thank her for is that she has always been there for me. On occasions when I have felt so bad that I had no voice to tell her what was happening to me, I dared to ask her for a hug. Those moments bring me peace back, always, and they may not solve my problems, but they make me stay on my feet.

My mom is my biggest fan. That doesn't mean she blindly supports everything I do. She always makes me see the pros and cons of every situation, because like every mother, she wants the best for me.

When I reached puberty I thought that we had distanced ourselves, because we lost a lot of the necessary time to talk about things (and this was probably also because of that transition in me). On the other hand, now that I'm a little older, we have regained the trust that can only exist in this type of relationship.

For this birthday I just wish she feels good on her day. I also hope that she can continue to grow and become even more as a woman and as a professional. I wish that life puts on her way all the shortcuts that may lead her to feel more and more fulfilled. And may her smile never fade, amen.

El día de hoy está cumpliendo años la persona más importante en mi vida. Gracias a ella hoy estoy aquí, y no solo por el hecho de que me cargó en su vientre por 9 meses, sino que hasta hoy me ha proporcionado los espacios adecuados para crecer y desarrollarme.

Mi mamá es una mujer muy fuerte. Podía parecer una calificación cliché, pero yo mismo soy testigo de cuántas veces ha pasado por diversas complicaciones y no se ha rendido. Sé que la fuente de su energía somos mis hermanos y yo, por eso algún día me gustaría retribuirle todo el esfuerzo que ha hecho por nosotros. Por ahora, trato de ser un buen hijo, siendo responsable y educado como ella me enseñó.

Hay muchas cosas de su historia personal que no he podido conocer. Igualmente, yo también tengo cosas que me guardo. Algo que sí quiero agradecerle es que siempre ha estado ahí para mí. En ocasiones en las que me he sentido tan mal que no tenía voz para contarle lo que me pasaba, me atrevía a pedirle un abrazo. Esos instantes me traen de vuelta la paz, siempre, y quizás no resuelvan mis problemas, pero me hacen mantenerme en pie.

Mi mamá es mi mayor entusiasta. Eso no quiere decir que apoye ciegamente todo lo que hago. Siempre me hace ver los pros y los contras de cada situación, porque como toda madre, quiere lo mejor para mí.

Cuando llegué a la pubertad pensé que nos habíamos distanciado, pues perdimos mucho el tiempo necesario para hablar las cosas (y esto probablemente también fuera a causa de esa transición en mí). En cambio, ahora que soy un poco más mayor, hemos vuelto a tenernos la confianza que solo puede existir en este tipo de relaciones.

Para este cumpleaños solo deseo que se sienta bien en su día. También espero que pueda seguir creciendo y superándose aún más como mujer y como profesional. Deseo que la vida ponga en su camino todos los atajos que la lleven a sentirse cada vez más plena. Y que su sonrisa nunca se apague, amén.
