Being an organizer of an event is not an easy task. Perhaps, if it is an isolated event, which only happens once a year, the stress would be something bearable if we take into account its ephemeral state. However, when it comes to an event that repeats itself periodically, new challenges and challenges to overcome always appear.

As usual, the poetry, trova and rap space sponsored by the Hermanos Sáiz Association "Transverso" was due to be presented again this September. These alternative afternoons are part of the project created by my friend Yoel Cipriano (@yeocipri) and I with the aim of promoting young art in our city. However, this edition had many setbacks.

To get through a first scare, we were notified a few days before the event that the management of the cafe where we usually do the show had changed. This was resolved quickly, as the new staff loved the idea, however it was a first red flag for me. My intuition was not wrong at all, because our dear Yoel Cipriano had a setback and from the previous day he warned that he could not be present. To top it off, on the very day of the event our troubadour woke up with a cold and it was impossible for him to sing. Then, with my nerves on edge, I had to do magic not to cancel this show.

I'm lucky to have a lot of talented friends, so I didn't hesitate to call a couple of them to help me save the day. Thus, Marianni Díaz (@rivereyesmusic) performed several songs for us, and Enrique (@yecier) also joined us to read us one of his most recent texts.

I was reading poems of my own authorship and I also took the liberty of paying tribute to César Vallejo, a poet whom I admire very much and who has been a great influence on my writing.

I received all the support besides the cafe staff and the audience that was present there. At the end of the afternoon I could feel a burst of good vibes going up all over my body. My instinct, apart from the hunch, told me not to give up until the end. The results speak for themselves.

Ser organizador de un evento no es una tarea fácil. Quizás, si es un evento aislado, que solo ocurre una vez al año, el estrés sería algo soportable si tenemos en cuenta su estado efímero. Sin embargo, cuando se trata de un evento que se repite periódicamente, siempre aparecen nuevos retos y desafíos a sobrellevar.

Como ya es costumbre, el espacio de poesía, trova y rap auspiciado por la Asociación Hermanos Sáiz "Transverso" debía volverse a presentar en este mes de septiembre. Estas tardes alternativas forman parte del proyecto creado por mi amigo Yoel Cipriano (@yeocipri) y yo con el objetivo de fomentar el arte joven en nuestra ciudad. Sin embargo, esta edición tuvo muchos contratiempos.

Para pasar un primer susto, se nos avisó pocos días antes del evento que la gerencia del café donde habitualmente hacemos el show había cambiado. Esto se resolvió rápidamente, pues al nuevo personal le encantó la idea, sin embargo fue una primera señal de alerta para mí. Mi intuición no se equivocaba en lo absoluto, pues nuestro querido Yoel Cipriano tuvo un contratiempo y desde el día anterior avisó que no podría estar presente. Para colmo, el propio día del evento nuestro trovador amaneció con catarro y le era imposible cantar. Entonces yo, con los nervios de punta, tuve que hacer magia para no cancelar este show.

Tengo la suerte de contar con muchos amigos talentosos, así que no dudé en llamar a un par de ellos para que me ayudaran a salvar el día. Así, Marianni Díaz (@rivereyesmusic) interpretó para nosotros varias canciones, y también se nos sumó Enrique (@yecier) para leernos uno de sus más recientes textos.

Yo estuve leyendo poemas de mi autoría y también me tomé la libertad de rendirle homenaje a César Vallejo, poeta al que admiro mucho y que ha sido una gran influencia en mi escritura.

Recibí todo el apoyo además del staff del café y del público que estuvo allí presente. Al final de la tarde pude sentir una ráfaga de buenas vibras subir por todo mi cuerpo. Mi instinto, aparte de la corazonada, me dijo que no me rindiera hasta el final. Los resultados hablan por sí solos.
