Hello to all the friends of Throwback Thursday. I hope that today you can embrace your memories with love and light. In times that may seem dark, remembering better moments is a great comfort for the mind and heart.

Lately I've been trying to focus on the small things and the joy that can be achieved from what is seemingly little. The reality is that it doesn't take great material things to make us feel satisfied. Sometimes with just a small gesture wonderful things can happen.

Something similar happened to me in the story that I want to bring back today. The same took place last August, while participating in the Day of the Political Song. The first days of this event there were many activities and all the time I could rest during the nights seemed little to me. However, there was one day in particular in which after the morning activities we had the afternoon off.

I really didn't know what to do, and my mind was so active that it was difficult for me to take a nap. I thought for a moment about the lobby bar of the hotel I was staying at and I said to myself "why not?". I quickly took a bath, went out and sat down at the bar.

I was wearing cool clothes because of the heat, and it seemed appropriate to order a drink. I took advantage while making the order at the bar and took a picture. The crystals that were behind the bottles always catch my attention, and in a way it's even funny to take these "mirror pictures".

I took a seat at one of the tables that was available while my order arrived. From my place I could see the clear sky over the city. The panorama was cozy. All of a sudden I felt inspired to finish a job that I had pending and that I had been postponing for a long time. It didn't take me that long to finish it, although I confirm that the Cuba Libre that was already served was like a fuel that helped me finish the task.

Since I still had free time I stayed there, sitting, connecting with all the elements around me. The action of contemplating without wishing to influence what is happening in the environment in which we are present serves a lot to disconnect from that internal monologue that usually wants to monopolize our entire history. To my surprise, when I wanted to stand up the sun was already setting and then I convinced myself that I had made the right decision by spending time with myself there.

I couldn't help but take a picture of it, because I knew that later this would be a memory that I would like to return to, and that hunch has now been fulfilled. I will be coming back soon to share other moments. Until next time!

Un bar, un trago y un atardecer maravilloso

Hola a todos los amigos de Throwback Thursday. Espero que el día de hoy puedan abrazar sus recuerdos con amor y luz. En tiempos que pueden parecer oscuros recordar momentos mejores resulta un gran consuelo para la mente y el corazón.

Últimamente he estado tratando de enfocarme en las cosas pequeñas y el gozo que se puede lograr desde lo que aparentemente es poco. La realidad es que no se necesitan grandes cosas materiales para hacernos sentir satisfacción. A veces con solo un pequeño gesto pueden pasar cosas maravillosas.

Algo similar me sucedió en la historia que quiero traer de vuelta hoy. La misma tuvo lugar el pasado agosto, mientras participaba en la Jornada de la Canción Política. Los primeros días de este evento hubo muchas actividades y todo el tiempo que pude descansar durante las noches me pareció poco. Sin embargo, hubo un día en especial en el que tras las actividades de la mañana tuvimos la tarde libre.

Realmente no sabía qué hacer, y mi mente estaba tan activa que me costaba dormir una siesta. Pensé por un momento en el lobby bar del hotel en el que me estaba quedando y me dije a mí mismo "¿por qué no?". Tomé rápido un baño, salí y me senté en la barra.

Llevaba ropa fresca por el calor que hacía, y me pareció idóneo pedir un trago. Aproveché mientras hacía la orden en la barra y tomé una foto. Los cristales que había detrás de las botellas siempre me llaman la atención, y de cierta forma es hasta gracioso tomar estas "mirror pictures".

Tomé asiento en una de las mesas que había disponible mientras mi orden llegaba. Desde mi lugar podía ver el cielo despejado sobre la ciudad. El panorama era acogedor. De golpe me sentí inspirado para terminar un trabajo que tenía pendiente y que llevaba tiempo aplazando. No me tomó tanto tiempo terminarlo, aunque confirmo que el Cuba Libre que ya estaba servido fue como un combustible que me ayudó a darle fin a la tarea.

Como todavía tenía tiempo libre me quedé allí, sentado, conectando con todos los elementos a mi alrededor. La acción de contemplar sin desear influir en lo que sucede en el medio en el que estamos presentes sirve mucho para desconectar de ese monólogo interno que por lo general quiere acaparar toda nuestra historia. Para mi sorpresa, cuando quise ponerme de pie el sol ya se estaba poniendo y entonces me convencí de haber tomado la decisión correcta al pasar tiempo conmigo mismo allí.

No podía evitar tomarle una foto, porque sabía que después esta sería una memoria a la que me gustaría regresar, y esa corazonada ahora se ha cumplido. Pronto estaré regresando para compartir otros momentos. ¡Hasta la próxima!
