It also makes a great underlayer below fruit bushes or trees, and as a green mulch/ feed for our soil, as it melts into the ground so easily once pulled up 🍀☘️🍃

You're right it makes a good, light mulch when it has fininished for the year. Plants don't just help us, they help the whole ecosystem.
