🐾🐈🐾🐈Tale of 3 (or 4?) Tails - Part 21: There is an Imposter Among Us 🐾🐈🐾🐈

Well, he may be an imposter but he's not very good at hiding himself! Meow Meow (NOT MY CAT) is an enormous white floofy cat with the floofiest ginger tail you have ever seen and believe me he knows exactly how floofy he is and uses that floof to get whatever he wants out of me.

Just the other night, Zak and I were awoken by the invader. He climbed in through our bedroom window, looking for snacks, or cuddles, or his playmates... I'm not sure, to be honest, but there we were at 3 am with the lights on trying to shoo him back out of the window. Not even 45 minutes later, as we'd both fallen back into deep sleep, I was awoken by an odd repetitive thud noise, accompanied by a catbell. Now look, all our cats, including the neighbour's cat have the same collars, but my cats meow when they want something. Meow Meow ironically does not. So, it became apparent that MEaow Meow had managed to invade our bedroom for the second time in one evening. Not wanting to wake Zak but equally wary that Meow Meow has sharp ends and a reputation for shredding, I gingerly picked him up and managed, with some struggle, to get him back out of the window of our 2nd story bedroom and onto the landing, before I closed the window. Whoops. Poor Meow Meow got distracted by me and lost his footing, and was sent scuttling down the pergola in a most undignified fashion. Thank goodness he was uninjured, poor thing, but he hasn't tried to come back to visit. As much as I'd love to have him come and go as he pleases, the other cats (my own cats) would never forgive the betrayal.

My own 3 tails are doing so very well, I am pleased to report. Lexi has moved back home and is now permanently out of kitty jail. She seems to be putting on weight (and throwing it around, like the princess she is).

Squeek has become so unexpectedly friendly and extroverted after spending most of her life terrified of everything and generally very grumpy. I think she's just had to accept that being cuddled is part of the deal for free salmon offcuts :p

Mittens's hormones have settled at last and he has chilled out most gloriously. He did have an unfortunate incident with our gate, where he tried to get out while @zakludick was pressing the button and the idiot managed to get himself trapped. Thank heavens cats are basically liquid and Zak acted really fast, so there was no permanent damage. I have definitely made it my mission now to make him too fat to get through the gate. That goes for all of them. They can't get into the road if they're too fat to jump over the wall.

Mittens has also been oh so full of love and cuddles which has been an interesting and most welcome change. He even comes for naps while I'm napping or studying. There's definitely still a naughty kitten streak in him, and honestly, I hope he never loses that, but at least he's chilled out a bit and isn't keeping us up till the "crack of sparrows fart" screaming for a girlfriend.

All three kitties got spoilt rotten this Christmas and Mittens saw his 1st ever Christmas tree. I thought I was going to get some fantastic Christmas tree destruction photos, but they were all more interested in all the biltong being hidden under it.

Festive greetings from the furbabies of the MobeyLudick Household <3

Cats definitely make one have a lot of anecdotes to tell. I can imagine that rattle ringing at 3am. Your cats are beautiful and so is the neighbor's.
