The only thing better than girly time is when you have an extra special daughter to share it with! With a healthy dose of junk food and some Vampire Diaries, Aime and I had the most lovely time getting ourselves all decorated, just in time for Christmas!

I must say, Madame @aimeludick is just becoming more and more excellent and skilled at this whole hair and nails business. I mean, just look at her nails in comparison to mine 😂😂

As for my hair though, we decided to repeat my favorite. Which is the platinum blonde, which I did in my last installment:

you can see this is straight after bleaching because it's still very yellow. Consistent toning is great and helped me achieve a much better almost Daenerys Targaryen color (see below) but you have to be careful as your hair can go blue/ purple if you overdo it (which explains little old ladies with purple hair 😆)

Claire's hair and makeup journey part 6: hair DIY with the deep wine red underneath. I just adore the contrast and I love how it brings out my eyes. Aime has become brilliant in her precision.

It was absolutely appropriate to be watching Vampire Diaries while we did this because the dye really and truly looks like actual blood while it's developing! You have to be so careful not to let even a spot land anywhere you don't want it because it stains like heck!

I am absolutely ecstatic with the results, and although I know my hair doesn't retain color well (my hair is naturally very porous which means it grabs color well, but it also washes out extremely fast. Also the result of overbleaching), at R60 a box, I think I can afford to touch it up when I need to. It's the Blonde that's the tough part. To keep that platinum colour without it going yellow or brassy, I have too keep up with the toning conditioner, which it not very cheap.

Sigh... the things we do for vanity :p

Still, I maintain that doing this at home, with my favorite young lady was the most awesome evening and a fantastic opportunity to spend time together <3<3<3
