Many years ago I saw this anime series, which is based on the story of Mangaka Yuji Shiozaki, its first edition was in the 2000s and continued until it ended in the fourth season. I remember that I liked it a lot at that time but after the years maybe it is not a series that I can dedicate my time to watch it again.

There are times when I watch a series again, that way I can catch things I couldn't visualize the first time I watched it, I don't know if it's a bad habit but it's definitely something I enjoy. However I don't do this with all series, but with those that transcend and even become classics like Saint Seiya to give an example.

Ikkitousen is good but it borders on boring because of its shallow plot, the four seasons are about the same thing, only that one after the other more "enemies" or rivals appear, that makes it heavy to watch at times. The main story is centered in Kanto, where 7 schools fight each other for supremacy and control; the point is that the fight is not something circumstantial but an event that goes back to past years where the powerful heroes united for the unification of the country.

This is one of the mythical elements of the series, and added to that the spirits of these heroes are sealed in gems worn by the main characters, most of them female characters, and this is one of the points I want to touch on. Back then I loved it because the girls were beautiful, besides that the anime had a lot of eroticism and sensuality, so much so that panties and boobies were not something alien to the eye, in fact it was a quite enjoyable element, and today I dare to say that much more than the story.

The point is that this attraction that at the time was an elixir to my eyes today is not very appealing to me and less so if I watch it with my young children who also love anime, especially the little girl who sits down to watch it with me. The battles between schools I can not deny that they are very entertaining, the author tries to emphasize the use of martial arts, although in an anime like this you can not leave out the supernatural, a force that takes place progressively in the plot.

Sonsaku Hakufu is the name of our main character, a somewhat silly girl but with a very striking personality, she is one of the leaders of the three kingdoms but because of her power she is the main target in the whole series. I can't deny that the mangaka came up with his main character very well, she is not the most beautiful of them all but she is the one who has what everyone else wants, something like Naruto, a main character who is not the most striking but is the main character. I definitely don't know how mangakas do this but those who manage to do it definitely create a work of art.

The rest of the characters and their personalities are interesting, among them the most worked are those who appear in the first season as they continue to be given a development during the remaining ones, this in my opinion is good but sometimes does not fall so well, especially if the secondary characters seem to be the main ones, perhaps in that sense it was a mistake of the mangaka or the studio that animated the series, because remember that there are always licenses to change and adapt the story according to the present audience, most notable example Yugi oh, a topic that I will talk about later.

Finally and to conclude, is it worth it? It depends on your tastes, if you love fan service you will enjoy it, otherwise I do not recommend it because you will hardly get past the first 3 chapters. In short it is a series that can entertain because despite all its plot has elements that can be enjoyed.

Anime with little depth and a lot of fan service usually have little interest on my part, but I think it serves for specific moments and to reboot the mind from the stories we are used to seeing, however it is as you rightly say, it is a matter of taste.

Thanks for sharing. Regards!

Yeah dude, it's the same for me, in fact I rarely watch anything that has fanservice, I don't particularly like it and even less in this day and age. I watched this series years ago when I was young, single and without a girlfriend haha.

I wanted to talk about it because in general terms it is entertaining and you can pass the time, but today I think I have been refining my tastes and I prefer to watch other series.

Regards

Fanservice is not to my liking, but I never mind seeing it if the plot is deep and interesting. If there is a good character development, a gripping story and fanservice, it doesn't bother me, otherwise I try to skip this kind of anime haha

I also usually rewatch series or movies to catch things that I might have missed the first time I watched it 👌

I think the same as you, in fact when I saw it years ago I had no idea what fanservice was, I watched it for other reasons but nowadays I also ignore that kind of anime.

Seems like a very basic storyline to be honest well in most anime like these female characters have used to be bigger things this attract more audience imo.

Yes, sadly the female character is often used as an attraction, although I am more attracted to good stories than to the characters themselves.

Ikkitousen is good but it borders on boring because of its shallow plot

But since the characters are good-looking, I think I am going to check this out 😁

very good review, I liked that you spoke with sincerity and gave me a lot of laughter that while I was reading it I was wondering if you said you did not like it why did you see it? and then I understood the fanservice HAHAHAHAHAHAJ anime of this style are not my style I do not like much that sometimes certain things are unnecessary but you understand why they do it and is to catch the public or so I think. I don't think I would watch it but good post bro <3

Hahaha, thanks my friend and forgive my tardiness in responding to your comment.

I like to be critical, objective and subjective when reviewing. When I saw Ikkitousen years ago there were some good things but now with a more mature mind I really don't like it, and well, the fanservice is really taking over many current anime, from now on there won't be much to watch.

Greetings
