Cine TV Contest #133 - Movie That Makes You Happy

avatar

Hello CineTV

Some people see time as an enemy. As I get older I wonder if this isn't the case. No one can outrun time... But the movies selected in our most recent contest explore that very idea. Pushing time to its boundaries and imagining if time isn't as fixed as we believe it to be. To be honest, the topic ignites wonder in me and reminds the viewer that we don't always understand everything in this vast universe as we like to believe.

I want to thank everyone that took time to enter our contest. I appreciate your support and participation in them. I realize that they sometimes are not as regular as I would like them to be but life sometimes gets in the way. So I appreciate your patience as well! Good luck to everyone!!!

Let's get to the winners!

First Place

The first place finisher was @irenenavarroart with The Time Traveler's Wife, found here: https://peakd.com/hive-121744/@irenenavarroart/cinetv-contest-the-time-travelers-wife-egc

This is a very interesting concept for a movie to have the main character interacting with the love interest in many different periods of her life. Great review and selection. Thanks!

Second Place

The second place finisher was @whatmidesays with their selection of In Time, found here: https://peakd.com/hive-121744/@whatmidesays/cine-tv-contest-every-second-countsin-time-2011-7gb

This one kind of freaks me out in that it kind of reminds me of other dystopian films (Logan's Run - had to watch that in school!). Definitely fits that the rich get richer and the poor suffer. Makes the story believable. Thank you!

Third Place

The third place finisher was @pannavi with Edge of Tomorrow, found here: https://peakd.com/hive-121744/@pannavi/cine-tv-contest-132-the

I found this movie to be fascinating. Reliving the same day in a war scenario instead of say like "Groundhog Day" that is set in a normal town. It would defeinitely be taxing to live this day over and over by dying every time. Thank you!

Congrats!

450 CINE COINS will be transferred to the winners.

Now if anyone disagrees with our choices then please tag us in a comment on this post!

And let's move on to the new contest!

Movie That Makes You Happy

I am not sure if we have done a contest like this in the past but I thought it would be a good time to find out what kind of movie makes people happy. It feels like a great topic because it gives everyone the freedom to choose any kind of movie, from any genre or time period with basically no limitations (besides decency!). With such a wide interpretation, there is no reason that everyone shouldn't enter because all you have to do is justify your pick and tell us why the movie you selected makes you happy.

My sons and I just went to see the Minecraft movie and to be honest it was silly and there were moments when I wondered why I had spent the money to come and see the film. AFterwards I realized though that this movie had made my kids and I happy and just played on the silliness of the game and didn't everything so seriously. It geniunely made us smile and laugh after the movie which I realized is the goal of cinema, to evoke something from the audience. Whether it's to share a message, to scare, entertain, or share laughs the cinema accomplishes this like almost no other media.

For this contest, I want you to pick a movie from any genre (again, within the decency rules!) and tell us why it makes you happy. Give examples from the movie and details that make this a movie that brings happiness. I won't judge the contest based on what makes me happy but the quality of your reasoning and justification for you choice.

Be original and give your most personal and engaging review if you want me to select your entry. Thanks for being here and for engaging with our contests. :)

If you have any questions or concerns feel free to tag me in the Discord channel (caulderfreeman). Enjoy this week's contest and good luck!

Your name, a unique name by the way, is a household name for most hive communities.

It's giving celebrity writer.
I knew the name before I knew the face.

😂😂😂I almost forgot who I was contending with. Mide dear, Your words cut deep in a good way and here I am blushing, but I am no celebrity writer. You look more like one; accept it because it is what fash says, not what mide says.
