There should be limit to things robot do
Good day and happy new week, amazing people of Hive Blockchain. Welcome back to my blog. It is another edition in the #hivelearners community. I am so delighted to participate in this week's prompt robot help.
The offers are really tempting – a robot doing all the house chores perfectly for me, from cleaning the house to cooking and also taking care of the kids. That would be nice, waking up from sleep and the house already neat and in order by the help of a robot. No matter how tempting this offer may look, I don’t think I want that kind of lifestyle for myself.
I was having a discussion with my friends, and one of them was complaining that 24 hours is no longer enough to finish his daily task. To be honest, it is not enough. One thing I love about humans is their love of an easy life, and whatever makes life easy they will prioritise.
I will not lie; technology has really made life so easy for humans. In many aspects of life, robots have really been useful to man. I have seen in movies where robots run errands for their owners, even to the point of going to the market to buy items for them.
Getting this robot will cost a fortune; if I have the money, sure, I will get one. There are some things I will wake up from sleep; I will be so weak to do house chores, and I will need someone to assist me with house chores. If a robot will clean my house, I will happily buy one and then use the free time for other things.
There are limits to the things that robot will do for me. When it comes to cooking, a robot will not do that for me; I will do that myself. There is this joy I always have whenever I am cooking for my family – the bond, love and happiness. It is more than food to me. If a robot should take over this duty from me, how will I connect and bond with my family?
When it comes to taking care of the kids by robot, it's a capital NO for me. Every child needs to bond with the parent. Like I said earlier, there should be a limit to the tasks a robot handles. If the robot baths, plays with and feeds my kids, what am I doing as a mother? If the robot takes over this role from me, there will be a problem because these kids will act like robots. Robots don’t have emotions and feelings, and these kids need love and care and someone who will guide them on the journey of life; robots are not in the best place to do that.
What I will use my free time for.
I will use my free time and take care of myself and also do extra work; after all, the rich are still working to earn more money. There are so many skills I would like to acquire. Having some free time, I can be able to do that.
It has always been my wish to do charity work, but due to a tight schedule, I haven’t been able to do that. Having free time, I can be able to go out for my charity work.
I swear thousands of humans will depend on robots. On a normal day, some people give their work to others to do. It will really be nice to have robots do some work for us. On second thought, the world will be so boring, and the world will be so artificial. If artificial intelligence is here to assist us, we should try to understand there is a limit to the things these robots will do.
