THE FATHERS DESERVE A LEAVE
Good day, amazing people of hive block chain. Welcome back to my blog. This is another edition in the #hivelearners community. I am so glad to participate in these prompts. Topic: paternity leave.
It has been in existence that one’s a mother put to birth is giving maternity leave to recover, but the father’s are not given paternity leave. Fathers feel like they are being cheated or treated unfairly by society because they have been denied paternity leave.
In a way, it is not really good on the side of the fathers; they should be giving paternity leave as well, because during the period of the pregnancy they went through the journey with their wives, so this father’s passed through hell during their wife's pregnant journey. Giving them a few weeks of leave will not be a bad idea.
I have this sister of mine who says that whenever she is pregnant, the husband will really suffer. As her sister, I can’t even stand her. Whenever she is pregnant, most times she will wake the husband up in the middle of the night, demanding pepper or something else, and the husband will most likely do it; if not, the wife will not allow him to sleep. Such a man also needs paternity leave to recover both emotionally and mentally.
Imagine a man, after a stressful day at work, coming back home to meet his pregnant wife and assist her in some things at home. It is not easy, if I may say so. There are so many reasons why these men need paternity leave.
Most organisations give mothers who just gave birth a one-month maternity leave, or more, to enable them to recover fully and also take care of their infant. I think the fathers should be given leave, even if it is two weeks, to cool off and get themselves.
If it is not fair on the men that the women are the only ones who are giving leave from their place of work, because the mother’s worth, the leave is not easy to pass the pregnant journey, and at the same time as giving leave to recover, the fathers should be giving leave as well in order to bond with their new baby. We understand that it is the women who undergo the pain; men also pass through this stress with their wives.
Every organisation should give their men paternity leave; they deserve it, even if it is for two weeks, to enable them to assist their wives at home.
The fathers deserve some rest; they are not demanding much, even if it is for two weeks. They will really appreciate it, and at least within this period, they will bond with the new baby and also help their wife, who just gave birth. Giving the fathers leave will not be a bad idea. Both parents should be given leave.
