Spend wisely
Good day and happy new week! Amazing people of the Hive blockchain, welcome back to my blog. It is another edition in the #hivenaija community. I am so delighted to be participating in this week's prompt topic: my budget-friendly Christmas celebration idea.
Christmas is a season of merriment, a period that unites people together. It is a season that is celebrated by the Christians. During this period, people spend their money extravagantly, forgetting that there is a new year ahead.
Christmas is a moment of joy; it is one of the festivals that brings people together. It is very important that when planning for this festival, we should make sure that our budget is pocket-friendly so that we will start the new year broke. People always fall victim to being broken after Christmas celebrations because they failed to plan for themselves well; they end up looking for someone who will lend them money; of course, they have to wait for the end of the month to finish before they will get paid.
Of course it is nice to make merry during this season, but always have it at the back of your mind that there are many responsibilities waiting for them. By the new year it is no longer a new thing that after the Christmas celebration, 70% of the people are financially broke. Well, I am not judging anyone; borrowing after the Christmas celebration is one thing I can’t do because I don’t do things above my capacity. I always cut my coat according to my size, and I love planning ahead of time.
There is this mindset that people have: one is Christmas; they spend money extravagantly, forgetting that there is a new year ahead of them, and when they move into the new year, they will end up looking for who will lend them money.
I avoid spending much money: once Christmas approaches, I will buy the necessary thing I need to get for my family ahead of time. Whenever I am shopping for my family for Christmas, I always shop for them in October; this helps my budget less because once it is Christmas, the price of things doubles.
One thing I know I can’t do is impress someone. I can’t spend my money on drinks and merriment because I want my friends to see me as a big girl, or I want to feel among them. I always have at the back of my mind that I will only receive my salary at the end of the month. If I fail to plan well, I will end up borrowing money from people, which I don’t like.
I always do my Christmas shopping before Christmas approaches, as that always helps me save money.
I make sure I have a limit: every year I have a limit of money I spend. Once I get to my limit, I rest my case.
This has always been my yearly budget idea, and I am not going to change it. Currently, my country's economy is not smiling. Always remember, when celebrating Christmas, also plan your new year.
This is my entry on the ongoing content #hivenaija.

Doing Christmas shopping before the festivities begin is so good.
It saves you from buying things at exorbitant prices.
And you get to plan and buy what you really need
