I’m so happy to be participating in this prompt topic on parental values and norms. As a parent, you should create value for your kids. You should be able to raise up a child the world will be proud of, and also you as a parent will be proud of.

Parenting is an amazing journey that everyone will love to experience it is not always easy to rise you a child it takes love and sacrifice to bring up a child no wonder many parents are failing in parenting it is not easy i have this sister of mine after her wedding she told her husband that she need some years to prepare herself into the journey of parenting one’s she started having kids her attention was divided taking care of the husband and the kids is not easy at all parenting is one thing that needs patient and love.

As a parent, you should know that there are some values and norms that will help to direct your kids.

As a parent, you should always know that your life is a mirror to your kids. You play a very vital role in your kids lives. Always remember that your kids are watching every move you make and observing your actions. You are a role model to your kids; you should always live by example. You should always remember that these kids are watching every step you take. As parents, the best way to teach your child good behaviour is by practicing it always. Have it at the back of your mind; whatever you teach a child, she or he will never forget it. That is why it is very important as a parent to lay a good foundation for your kids.

As a parent, you should be able to teach your child honesty. It is very necessary that a child be honest and accountable in life. Most times when I come across some kids who are not honest, I don’t really blame them, but the parent failed to educate the kids about the values and norms. I so much believe that every family has its own values and norms. As a parent, you should be able to educate the kids on how important it is to always say the truth; whenever they tell lies, punish them so that they will understand better. As a mom, always be honest and lead by example.

I can remember when I was growing up, my parents were so free with us. You communicated with us freely without fear; we told our parents everything that happened in school. It is very important as a parent to always communicate freely with your children. Create an avenue where your kids can easily tell you their needs and their concerns. This free communication will help strengthen the relationship. It is very important for every parent to train up

As a parent, it is very important for us to cultivate good values and norms in our children. Remember, train up a child in a way he or she should grow, and when they are old, they will not depart from it.
