Never give up

Good day, amazing people of the Hive Blockchain. Welcome back to my blog. It is another edition in the #ladiesofhive community. I am so delighted to participate in this week's prompt: what do you consider to be the most important lessons that we should teach our children?

Even the Bible makes us recognise how important it is for us to train our child or people under us. It is the duty of every parent and guardian to train the child given to them in a proper way. There is this popular saying, 'As you make your bed, so shall you lie on it.' As a parent it is your responsibility to make sure that the kids given to you are trained in a popular way. If you fail your duty as a parent to train the kids, they will not only become a problem to the society but also to you.

For you to train these kids given to you, there are so many lessons to teach them. I have this lesson that I learnt from my mom, and I promise myself that I will pass it to my kids: NEVER GIVE UP. This word has really made me who I am today. I get to understand that life is not fair and it will not give you everything that you desire. My parents made us understand that for you to survive and be successful, you don’t need to give up at every point. My parents failed but never gave up; instead, they picked up immediately. My dad will always tell me back then there was no problem when one failed; when it will become a problem is when the man fails and refuses to stand up.

I was not born with a golden spoon; my parents made me understand that life is not easy. I went to market with my mom; according to her, back then, I needed to understand that for me to survive in life, I should never give up on my goals because giving up is never an option. My mom will always tell me then that it was not easy for her to be where she is today, but what made her stand out is that, by means of the challenges, she never gave up; instead, she kept pushing and hustling. I grew up in a family that doesn’t know what it means to give up; when they fail, they stand up immediately and keep pushing. My family don’t believe in failure.

I get to understand that there is nothing bad in failing; most times we fail to correct our errors and to do better. Currently now kids of these days easily give up on their dreams because life is not fair to them. They have this mindsetthat once someone fails, it is the end of the road. They are so afraid to push that for every little thing they will give up. For most successful men out there, the road was not easy for them; they failed many times, but what made them special is that they never gave up.
