Knowledge is power education is not a scam
Good day, amazing people of the Hive Blockchain. Welcome back to my blog. It is another edition in the #hivelearners community. I am so delighted to participate in this week's prompt; it's still worth it.
Currently education has lost its worth. Unlike the olden days when you saw someone with a degree, you would respect the person. Back then whoever had a degree was like a king to his people. Parents put in all to make sure that their kids were educated and learnt. Back then any family that had someone with a degree would always boast about their son or daughter. In my generation, children are afraid to further their education; they have this mindset that school is a scam. On the other hand, I don’t really blame them for believing that school is a scam. Someone will go to school for a whole four years and more, and after passing the stress of school, there is no work for the person. It always pains me when I see graduates in the streets of Lagos carrying files up and down looking for work.
For me, I don’t think that degree we bagged in the university is worth the effort. Let’s look at it this way: you can’t just bag a degree without money. Our parents put in a lot of money just to make sure we pass the four walls of education just to be successful. There are some parents who will starve just to save money to make sure that their kids go to school just like other kids. They will work day and night. At the end of all this suffering, the child will graduate from the university without a job.
I will not lie at a point in my life i was regretting why i went to school for 4 years back then my degree couldn’t get me a good job i see it as a waste of effort and resources seriously people spend millions of naria to bagged this degree at at the end the are at the street during menial jobs just to eat and survive looking at the way graduate are suffering after getting this degree do you still think that degree are worth it in the year 2025 for me i will not say it is a waste of effort or waste of resources there is this popular saying no knowledge is a waste my little advice is not depend on your degree because there is no work out there believe me school is not a scam and it will never be a scam.
For me the education system needs to upgrade; they should introduce skills to this kid and not only theories. We need skills more than theories because with skills we can survive after graduating from school and don’t need to wait for white-collar jobs to survive. I just love what people are doing these days. Before they go for a degree, they will first of all acquire a skill. We can’t keep waiting for white-collar jobs. Learn as many skills as you can.

I also think that a diploma alone no longer carries the same weight, and that the focus today is on combining academic knowledge with practical skills. This emphasis on valuing skills beyond theory is what makes the difference in today's market.

People no longer respect the certificate for the fact that there is no job even after pouring in so much resources and even time.

School isn't and is never a scam, but then ones certificate alone cannot does not guarantee a job. There's the need for us to build ourselves as well with practical skills, and with that, we are good to go.
