It is never easy

It is not always easy to learn something new, more especially if it is something you don’t have a passion for. If you are studying a course or learning a skill because your parents or guardian want you to, it will be very hard for you to learn.

After I finished my secondary school, my aunty contacted me to come work as a secretary in her beauty shop. She needed a family member she could trust. I was going to work every day in the morning. I was so close to the nail technician and the makeup artist. Anything they were attending to for customers, I would always go and stand by their side. I love what they are doing; inside me, I always wish I could be a pro like them. One day my two close friends called and encouraged me to learn this skill, saying that no knowledge is a waste; it can be useful for me in the future.

On second thought, I realise that what they are telling me is nothing but the truth, and it is a golden opportunity I should not misuse. I have so much interest in make-up; I will always watch her crave people's eyebrows, fix lashes and apply the powders. I have this zeal that I can do it whenever she has work during the week; I always tag along with her.

For some months I try to keep up with the makeup. I try my best to learn how to carve eyebrows, although sometimes I injure the people I use in learning the skill. At a point I have to give up. Makeup may look simple, but it is not easy from drawing the eyebrows to the makeup. It is not easy. For your make-up to be perfect, you have to know the particular shade to use on a client; if not, you will ruin the make-up.

I respect make up artist no wonder the call them artist the are really doing a great work it is not easy to beauty someone because if you didn’t use the right product you will ruin the make up i use to think that learning make up is so easy you will stay over four hours just to beauty your client i swear you have to be patient because most times you will met annoying client but you have to endure.

Currently I am regretting when I came up. Make-up is one of the things that gives money now, and back then I was learning the skill without payment, and my close friends then were so ready to teach me, but I was not patient enough. It never occurred to me that nothing good comes easy; it will only take courage and determination for one to achieve what they need. I will not lie; I am still regretting why I gave up on this skill.

It is never easy when it comes to learning new things, but people who are patient are always successful. Till now I am still regretting because my friends back then begged me not to give up, that with time I would master it, that Rome was not built in a day. If I had my way, I would go back and learn to make up. It is never easy, but giving up is not an option.
