Criminals deserve rehabilitation.

Good day and happy weekend, amazing people of the Hive Block Chain. I hope your weekend is going well. This is the second edition of the weekly prompts for #hivelearners community rehabilitation. Do you think that criminals should also have the right to be rehabilitated?

When you talk about the rehabilitation of criminals, it is not practiced in my country. If you commit a crime, you are going straight to prison. My country doesn’t believe that a criminal can be rehabilitated and thinks that rehabilitation is only for people who are drug addicts and not criminals.

The last time I visited prison, I cried for the people there. The place is very terrible; they are not taken care of. I got to find out that most of the prisoners are innocent and that they are there because their families could not provide a good lawyer for them. Some commit crimes because of the circumstances surrounding them.

The majority of these criminals are looking for people who will give them a listening ear so they can talk. I know that many of these criminals really want to stop, but they are looking for someone who will talk them out of crime.

Today topic, just remember me of one because my aunty handled years. The guy was a cool guy, but after graduating from the university with no job, he needed to survive and started stealing from people. One day he was cut, and I wanted to burn him. Lucky for him, my aunt was there. She heard what the boy was saying and realized that the boy didn’t go into stealing because he wanted to.

My aunt, as a therapist, rehabilitated the guy. It was not easy at the beginning. She talked the boy out of it during his rehabilitation. My aunt tested him with a huge amount of money to know if he really had changed. Today, the guy is doing well for himself. My aunt also empowered him.

If this particular young boy should stop stealing after rehabilitation, that means rehabilitation will really help this criminal. They need counselors and therapists who will help them out. They deserve a second chance, and they deserve a better life.

The majority of these criminals are just looking for people who will listen to them, hear them properly, talk to them, motivate them, and inspire them to live better rather than committing crimes.

It pains me that a prison that should be a place to correct these criminals turns out to be the worst place they are negotiated. After spending some time in prison, most of them lose themselves.

In some developed countries, prisoners are being taught skills like crafting, baking, etc., but here in my country, prisoners are seen as slaves. Last month, when I was going to the market, I saw some prisoners cleaning the gutter and cutting grass.

After rehabilitating these criminals, our government needs to empower these people so that they will not go back to crime after rehabilitation.

I strongly believe that criminals can also be rehabilitated. All they need is to get a counselor or therapist who will help them. The only thing that is constant is change. I believe these criminals can also undergo rehabilitation.

Rehabilitation should not only be for people who are drug addicted; there should be rehabilitation centers for criminals as well. These criminals deserve the best; let's treat them with care and love.These criminals deserve rehabilitation it will help correct them. The deserve to be happy.
