Learning the say never ends. I never knew that there was something like a blue-collar job; I am just hearing about it for the first time since I was a kid. All I know is white-collar jobs, and it has always been my dream to work in an office and dress corporately for work. If I didn’t come across this post today, I would never know that people who do manual labour are called blue-collar workers. It is a work that requires physical strength; they are always out hustling for daily bread, not like white-collar jobs where they sit in the office and carry out their activity.

I know you will be saying, 'What type of work falls under this blue-collar job?' Plumber, electrical, driving, and bricklayer are examples of blue-collar jobs. People that do this kind of work are known for their strength and the labour they pass through; they work under the rain and in the sun to make a living.

Most people prefer this blue-collar job to white-collar jobs. I can remember when we finished our secondary school, many of my classmates went into blue-collar jobs; according to them, they are not ready to pass the stress of university, and when they are done, there is no employment. They said back then it's better to use that money for university and learn a blue-collar job.

One thing about this blue-collar job is they receive their pay on a daily basis; they are not people who wait at the end of the month to receive their salary. For someone like me, I love blue collar because within an interval of a month, they can have several jobs they do.

Blue-collar jobs provide employment for people, all thanks to blue collars, because if we were to depend totally on white-collar jobs, it would be very hard because the so-called white-collar jobs are limited to some people. This blue-collar job doesn’t require a university degree.

Everyone is really moving to these blue-collar jobs. Gone are those days that people only depend on white-collar jobs. I have some friends that, after acquiring degrees, went and learnt blue-collar jobs, and they are really making it. If I must say, blue-collar jobs are honourable.

Currently now my country is encouraging every youth to have one skill; even as a graduate, you should learn a skill that you can fall back on. With the way things are in my country, one should not only depend on white-collar jobs; you should have knowledge of one blue-collar job.

I am among those individuals that will advocate for blue-collar over white collar jobs because you are own boss and you don't have to depend monthly salary.

Blue-collar jobs are honourable, yes. The good thing is you don't depend on salary or wait for the end of the month. We might not really see the jobs for what they are, but they are valuable and helpful to many.
