It is not always easy when it comes to taking decisions based on emotions. Whenever I am emotional, I try my best to avoid making decisions at that point because whatever decision I take may affect me in the long run. I am this kind of person that doesn’t really know how to handle her emotions. On several occasions I have made decisions based on emotions and am still regretting those decisions to this day. Whenever I am emotional, I try my best to avoid making decisions. All I will do at the moment is to procrastinate and make the decisions when I am in the right state of mind. There is no human without emotions.

My parents will always tell me back then that whenever I am not happy, I should avoid taking decisions, and I should try my possible best not to react to situations or take decisions when I am angry. There is this popular saying that anger destroys things. This statement is 100 per cent right (100%). I have taken decisions both when am happy and when am angry but the decisions i took when am happy gives me good results but the one I took when am angry am still regretting most of them.

No one is perfect; as humans, we make mistakes, and we also learn from those mistakes, taking decisions out of anger in most cases. Decisions we made out of anger always hold the better part of us. One thing is certain: when you are emotional, it affects your reasons at the moment and the way you react to situations.

It is very important for us to control our emotions. I can remember when I was working in an organisation; I took a decision that nearly destroyed my reputation in that organisation. After that day, I started having control over my emotions. I realised that I should be the one controlling my emotions and not the other way around.

You see, our emotions play a vital role, more especially when you are working in an organisation. The most important thing is being able to control your emotions and know when to use your heart and your head.

How i was able to manage my emotions.

Delay: whenever I am emotional, I delay decisions because at that moment I am not in the right frame of mind; any decision I made during this state is coming from my heart, not from my head. I try my possible best to procrastinate decisions. At that moment, I will take a break so that I can meditate and think so that I will not give decisions only from my heart. Delaying a decision really helps if you are not in the right frame of mind.

Balance my emotions. Believe me, it is not easy to balance your emotions. Our emotions always affect decision-making. Whenever our emotions take the better of us, we will not be able to reason well. At this point, all we need to do is pause and ask some questions. If possible, write down the questions. When you do this, you will have time to balance your emotions.

There is no human without emotions. It is very important for us to always balance our emotions.

How do you manage your emotions when it comes to making decisions?

It's very important to balance our emotions when making decisions, that's very necessary. Yes, we need to learn to make decisions with our head not just our heart. Making decisions when emotional can be very harmful and regretful.
