Delicious arepas!
Hello friends, this time I want to share these delicious arepas, with plantain flour or green plantain, as you know it better.
For some time now I have had to consume these foods, and the truth is that trying them has been difficult, however, trying to prepare them again is another level.
What will we need?
Our green banana flour, for two delicious arepas, 2 1/4 cups, less than half a cup of water, 1/2 ripe banana, salt.
Cut our half ripe banana, or at least it's the one I use, for better dough, softness and flavor, it gives it a special touch. Because this type of flour, gluten-free, generally does not tend to be kneaded with only one type of flour, it requires other flours or a complement, as in this case, the ripe banana, which when integrated tends to give softness and, above all, volume to the dough of arepa with green plantain flour.
We use water to boil the banana, a point of salt, when it is already boiled, we turn off the stove.
We add the banana flour in the container, and we reserve a bit of the last measuring cup, since this dough is different from the flour we know, and it is not so easy to knead, in its handling, that is, you have to give it way little by little.
We added the banana that we had already put on the fire, and integrated it with the help of a kitchen utensil, in this case I used a fork, it is more comfortable.
It will become this way, even dry, but it integrates easily, due to the creamy texture of the ripe banana.
We add the water little by little, and with the help of the fork we continue integrating, then we must use our hands so that it is completely integrated and in this way it does not have lumps, and it is easier to handle, this flour is super soft and even more with the ripe banana, which tends to resemble a mass of plasticine, but in this case edible.
Once it takes shape, it ends up like this, and the truth is that when it's ready it doesn't stick to your fingers, it's even more manageable.
We continue to separate for how you want to make the arepas, I made two, but remember that if you want more, double the amount of ingredients and if you want it to be one point more salty, add more salt to the flour, I just add it to the ripe banana when it is ready to boil.
We assemble our arepa and take it to a pan, to a budare, to the oven, or like me in this case to the air fryer, I like it a lot here, because I feel that it makes it better, about 15 or 20 minutes and that's it.
Delicious arepas in an air fryer!
These are green plantain flour arepas with a touch of ripe plantains, so that the flavor and texture are different, I invite you to prepare them and tell me how they turn out. Remember that each of us can do it in a different way.
Undoubtedly, we must find the exact point of our preparations with practice.
Greetings this night #Hivers of the hive.
