The Vibrant Flowers of My Mother-in-Law's Garden

Hi Hives community!
How are you all doing?

The Vibrant Flowers of My Mother-in-Law's Garden.png

Remember those veggies I showed you from my mother-in-law's garden? Well, today my friend, I'm taking you to the other side to see the gorgeous flowers! You might recognize some of the orchids, roses, and daisies I've posted before – they're the same beloved plants, just captured at different times. Unfortunately, the daisies are not blooming right now because the dry season is winding down, and those little sun-worshippers thrive in full sun.

Aside from having a short vacation, one of the main reasons we came back home was to check on my mother-in-law. She hasn't been feeling well lately she's been visiting her doctor more often, and her doctor has her on a strict regimen of food restrictions and "no-nos," like lifting heavy objects because she also has heart condition. The doctor even told her to avoid gardening for a while because they suspect her leg rashes came from garden weeds. Since we've been here, I've taken over the cleaning and maintenance of her garden. I'm really hoping she gets better soon; I know how much she loves gardening and how much it relaxes her.

She even asked me if I'd have time to transfer her orchids into some new pots she just bought – two dozen of them! But then the rashes flared up and spread quickly, leading to the doctor's restrictions. Now, those pots have been sitting on the balcony for weeks, just waiting for her. We're only here for a limited time, and honestly, I'm not sure if I'll be able to get to it but I hope I will. Between daily chores and looking after two kids and two elderly family members, running errands, my plate is pretty full!

Despite the busyness, I still manage to steal a few precious moments each morning on the balcony. Gazing at the garden and planning my day, it's truly my favorite part of the day – those calm mornings with a peaceful breeze are exactly what I need. It's the perfect time to savor my coffee while the rest of the household is still sound asleep.

So, that, my Hive friends, is a little peek into what's been happening in our corner of the world, specifically in my mother-in-law's garden! I'm really hoping my mother-in-law recovers quickly and gets back to her old self, so she can return to doing the things she loves, like tending to her beloved orchids and her garden.

Until then, I'll keep enjoying those peaceful balcony mornings, sipping my coffee and doing my best to keep her garden thriving. What about you? What are your favorite ways to unwind and connect with nature? I'd love to hear your thoughts in the comments below!

Thank you for reading and see you on my net one!

❤️❤️❤️

I love how you captured the Santan plants, I remembered before that we love sipping it's nectar. It's kind of sweet, but since it's just too little for each flower, we can't get more nectars.

Hmmn when it comes to connecting with nature naman, I love the idea of walking on a park with different flowers everywhere. It's kind of soothing. And I love walking on those green grasses! It makes me feel more connected with nature.

We used to play with santan flowers when we were kids, too, fashioning them into accessories like bracelets, necklaces, crowns, and earrings. Oh, those good old days! And of course, who could forget sipping the santan nectar? This flower is truly nostalgic.

Thanks for reading Khai! Have a great weekend!

What a beautiful garden your mother-in-law has, I hope she can recover soon so she can get back to doing what she loves and be with her little plants 🙏

I don't have much patience to take care of plants and stuff haha but I like to contemplate the work of others and enjoy nature just watching it and respecting it ❤️

I hope so too. She watches me tend her garden from the balcony, and I know she's longing to do it herself. There's something so calming about watching and simply staring at nature, right?! Thanks for being here.
