My learning journey in "Splinterlands" might have been different from that of many current players. Although there may be similar stories, I was fortunate to receive incredible support at the start. My "husband" taught me the basics, explained everything I needed to know, and made the learning curve much easier to tackle. At that time, I already understood the tools and methods to play, not to mention that the game was much simpler to navigate back then. However, everything evolved, and I had to update myself significantly.

That’s why I want to take this opportunity to share with the community how my learning journey in “Splinterlands” was. Even though the challenge is already over, I believe this is an excellent chance to provide information and/or education to the community with the goal of helping them learn how to use all the tools available to them and master the game from A to Z. So, if your desire is to become the best player, you need to pay attention to the tools.

There are very interesting questions in the challenge that I want to answer, but, in the second section of this post, I will be sharing the best learning tools for all the new players in the game.

Questions about my learning journey in the game

In this section, I want to answer two very good questions raised during the challenge—actually, three, as the third will be a piece of advice for all those new players who want to grow in the game and avoid common mistakes made by beginners. Of course, these mistakes are normal in any learning curve, as errors are valuable from my perspective. I'll help all players better understand everything related to "Splinterlands," so don't forget to follow me!

What was the biggest obstacle I faced in my learning process?

Wow, this is a very good question because life is full of obstacles, and "Splinterlands" is really no different in that sense. However, I wouldn’t say it’s been an obstacle, as ever since I started playing the game, everything has been quite manageable. I can honestly say that "Splinterlands" has brought me happiness most of the time. Sure, there have been a few frustrations here and there, and changes that many of us don’t like but have to learn to handle. After all, it’s not my game, and we must adapt.

However, if I had to talk about an obstacle, I would say that it was very challenging for me to understand all the new rules that kept coming out. I’m someone with a poor memory—my husband often points this out—so what has been the hardest for me is learning all the rules, which basically stem from the abilities of the cards. But, this was my obstacle; apart from that, it’s been an excellent journey.

What feature or mechanic took the longest to be fully understood?

Here, I could have included the part about the rules I mentioned earlier, but the truth is that the mechanic, feature, or gameplay mode I still don’t understand is the “Lands” and how to uncover the secret of “Praetoria.” Even today, it seems like a rather complicated and difficult gameplay mode to grasp. Honestly, I wouldn’t know where to start, so it would be great to have some sort of tutorial available in all possible languages to know how to begin. Since it has so many features and approaches, it’s been impossible for me to understand how it works.

In fact, I keep the assets, including those related to the "Lands," but I haven't used them because I don't want to make mistakes.

Learning tools

Well, this is the part of the post I like the most. Although you can take the good from what was written in the previous section, in this part of the post's development, I enjoy focusing on education and specifically on learning. And what better way to do so than by sharing the tools I usually use and have used in the past to learn and support myself:

Splintercards: This is one of the main platforms I recommend for learning the skills and rules of the game. The descriptions are well-documented, allowing you to understand everything related to gameplay.
Splinterguide: This is one of the platforms I also use multiple times, and at the time, it helped me with game strategies to learn more about the cards and understand their weaknesses and strengths. It’s a very good tool, although it still needs updating to include the new edition of “Conclave Arcana.” Nevertheless, it remains excellent.
Nightshade.gg: This platform is extremely good for getting a step-by-step guide from scratch on everything you need to do when starting the game. It also helps with renting cards and pre-made decks. However, since there are already several platforms where you can do that, I recommend checking out this guide if you're just beginning. It's a detailed walkthrough of everything you should do. Personally, I love the guide and the recommendations.

En esta sección quiero responder a 2 muy buenas preguntas que hicieron en el desafío, aunque más bien son 3, ya que la tercera será un consejo para todos esos nuevos usuarios que quieren crecer en el juego y evitar que los más nuevos comentan errores, aunque esto es normal en cualquier curva de aprendizaje, ya que los errores son buenos desde mi punto de vista, ayudare a todos los jugadores a comprender mejor todo lo relacionado con “Splinterlands”, así que no olvides seguirme:

¿Cuál fue el mayor obstáculo al que me enfrente en mi proceso de aprendizaje?

Vaya, esta es una pregunta muy buena, porque la vida está llena de obstáculos y “Splinterlands” realmente en ese sentido no es diferente, pero, no podría decir que fuera un obstáculo, ya que desde que inicie en el juego, todo ha sido muy llevadero, puedo decir sin mentiras que “Splinterlands” me ha traído felicidad la mayoría de las veces, uno que otros disgustos si, cambios que a muchos no nos gustan pero que debemos saber llevar, al fin y al cabo, no es mi juego y debemos adaptarnos.

Pero, si tuviese que hablar de un obstáculo, diría que me costó mucho comprender todas las reglas que venían saliendo, soy una persona que tiene mala memoria, mi esposo me lo resalta mucho, así que lo que más me ha costo es aprender todas las reglas, que básicamente nacen de las habilidades que tienen las cartas, pero, este fue mi obstáculo, de resto ha sido un camino excelente.

¿Qué característica o mecánica tardo más en comprenderse por completo?

Aquí podría haber incluido la parte de las reglas que mencione anteriormente, pero la realidad es que, la mecánica, característica o el modo de juego que aun no comprendo son las “Tierras” y como descubrir el secreto de “Praetoria”, me parece aun en la actualidad un modo de juego bastante complicado y difícil de entender, en realidad no sabría por dónde empezar, por lo que, sería bueno una especie de tutorial en todos los idiomas posibles para saber cómo comenzar, ya que tiene tantas características y formas de abordarse que, me ha sido imposible comprender como funciona.

De hecho, mantengo los activos, inclusive los que están relacionados con las “Tierras”, pero no los he usado porque no quiero cometer errores.

Herramientas de aprendizaje

Bueno, esta es la parte del post que me gusta, aunque en la anterior pueden tomar lo bueno de lo escrito, en esta parte del desarrollo de la publicación me gusta enfocarla en la educación y precisamente el aprendizaje; y que mejor forma de hacerlo que compartiendo las herramientas que suelo utilizar y que use en su momento para aprender y apoyarme:

Splintercards: Esta es una de las principales plataformas que, recomiendo para aprender las habilidades y las reglas del juego, las descripciones, todo está allí bien documentado para que aprendas todo lo relacionado con la jugabilidad.
Splinterguide: Esta es una de las plataformas que también utilizo varias veces y que en su momento también me ayudo con estrategias de juego a conocer más a las cartas y saber debilidades y fortalezas, es una herramienta muy buena, aunque falta por actualizarla e incluyan la nueva edición de “Conclave Arcana”, sigue siendo muy buena.
Nightshade.gg: Esta plataforma es extremadamente buena para obtener una guía desde cero en todo lo que debes hacer apenas inicias en el juego, también sirve para alquilar cartas y mazos preestablecidos, sin embargo, como ya existen varias donde puedes hacer eso, yo recomiendo observar esta guía si estas comenzando, es un paso a paso de todo lo que deberías hacer. Personalmente me encanta la guía y las recomendaciones.

Si quieren una especie de tutorial más extenso sobre cómo funciona cada una de estas plataformas, por favor dejen un comentario y saber si están interesados en la información, esto para preparar con tiempo el contenido y traerles información de calidad, aunque siempre en cada post es lo que trato de hacer.

Para terminar y mi consejo y/o recomendación para todos, es que analicen y confíen en lo que hacen, no tengan dudas en invertir en “Splinterlands”, este es un juego veterano, el equipo sabe lo que hace, y llevo más de 5 años en esto, como todo existen alzas y bajas, pero, es normal en cualquier trabajo, sea en web3 o no.
