The power in unity

While I was growing up ,i read a story in primary school called Unity is Power. The story was that an old man had five sons. He told his sons, "Each of you, cut two bamboo sticks and bring them to me." The boys did as usual. He gave a bamboo stick to each of the boys. He made a bundle by combining the remaining five pieces of posts. Now he asked each boy to break the single stick in their hands. They all smashed the sticks very easily. Now he gave each boy the bundle of five sticks one by one. But none of them could be able to break the bundle of sticks...

Then he asked the boys, "My dear sons, what did you learn from this test of breaking the bamboo sticks?" The boys did not answer. The old man told the boys, "If you five brothers were not united, then anyone could harm you anytime. And if you are united, then no one can harm you."

Dear sons, I am old. I may die soon. But, in my absence, your five brothers will remain united throughout your life. Remember –Unity is Power.

This is one example; there are a lot of models everywhere in our society. You may hard the name of business forums in our country which can be examples of Unity like FBCCI, BGMEA, BKMEA, REHAB, different trade unions, etc. Here all the business entities or businessmen are united to make their voices in favor of their respective business sectors. They can bargain combinedly in favor of their business or trade people

On the other hand, the most important is our families! Nowadays, most people like to live in a single family. You just think about the situation one or two decades back; in our society, most families were combined. Nowadays, single family members are husband, wife, and one or two kids. So, in most cases, none can share feelings with other family members. It's a big problem for the mental development of our kids. The results are that psycho-social and cognitive disability cases are increasing geometrically daily in our society. Most alarmingly increasing divorce cases.

But in earlier days, families were combining of father, mother, grandfather-mother, sons-daughters, grandsons-daughter, and so on. All the age groups people were in the family. So, there were people to address any social, mental, or other crisis that arose. Especially for the development of kids, a combined effort has existed automatically in a combined family.

Finally, I can say, Unity is Power! Unity can save us; Unity can develop us. So, unite, we can grow.
