How can we understand the Bible? This is a good question to ask. It is a good thing to seek after. We are desiring what pleases God if we desire to know the Bible. Studying the Word of God is something pleasing to God. The Bible has admonished us severally that we should study and meditate on the word of God.

The word of God is light. When we study the Word of God, our inner mind will be illuminated by the light of God's Word. The Word of God enlightens our path. Through the light of God's Word, we will be able to please God and do His will.
The word of God is our spiritual food. When we study the Word of God, we are taking in food for our spirit man. We should read the Bible in order to strengthen our spiritual being.
The word of God is the sword of the spirit. Through the sword of God's Word, we will be able to win the devil and his agents. When the word of God dwells in us, we cannot be defeated by any circumstances of life.

To understand the Bible, we must study it. We must read it always. There should be a conscious effort by us to know the word of God. Reading and understanding the Bible require that we meditate on it day and night. We should not allow the word of God to be far from us. We should not only read the Bible when we have church functions. We must be personally involved in studying the Bible.
