There are many appearances of evil spirits everywhere in the world. This is why there is so much wickedness and evil in the world. These evil spirits instigate people to do evil. The hearts of men become engrossed with evil. This is why the Bible says that the imagination of man's heart is evil continually.
The people who do not have God are at the mercy of the evil forces dominating the world. But unfortunately, these evil spirits do not have mercy. It is God alone who is our defense against all these evil spirits. Sinners continue to commit sin because the devil and his agents keep influencing them into sinning and disobeying God’s commandments.
People can be touched and tormented by evil spirits. But those who are born of God are not touched by the evil one. The evil forces cannot do anything to the children of God. Children of God cannot be touched by evil things.
