The boring duck

In a faraway and funny place,
there lived a somewhat bored duck.
He wanted to be funny, to be the life of the party,
but he always ended up being the most honest answer.
One day he decided to look for a magic potion,
to become the funniest duck on the block.
But the salesman didn't warn him accurately,
that the side effect would be laughter for no reason.
The duckling laughed and laughed endlessly,
until his friends became suspicious.
"What's wrong with that deranged duck?",
they said as they looked at him in bewilderment.
He tried to tell a joke, but no one laughed,
his friends looked at him with a "so what?" look on their faces.
"Maybe the laughter is somewhere else", he thought,
and went to look for it in the back of the closet.
But no matter how hard he looked, he couldn't find the laughter,
she only realized that it was a bit corny.
He decided to accept himself as he was,
and stopped looking to be the king of all comedy.
