Fleeting fireflies roam the space.
The moon smiles with winter freshness.
January arrives softly, with its tender pose
and it is sneaking, brief, with its slow gait.
You look at me tenderly, O moon in love!
Your silhouette is sprinkled all over the abode
And poppies and crickets and ballads are born,
That spread with the wind in unhurried rhymes.
You look at me, I know you look at me
with that cold look
of fine white eyelashes!...
and almost, as if you were strangely
you tell me: look for love!
O inebriated innkeeper!
What are you hiding? Why do you call me?
All the fields and flowers, the seas, the beaches,
colors! are under your dominion.
Silver, like aluminum,
is the rewarded night
and you, radiant and silent,
from there you continue to watch.
The dawn is coming
and you don't want to go
Go away! the sun may hurt you!
It's peeking over there!
