Just Missed It – A Story of Angles and Obstacles (Fast getroffen - Eine Geschichte aus Winkeln und Baustellen) - Munich
I had an idea: align the moon perfectly above the tower. Simple concept – one line, one moment. But yeah, didn’t work out.
The best perspective was blocked by a construction site. No way through. Not even a few steps of space. So I just tried what was still possible.
1. Almost unnoticed
Lots of people, lots of movement. The moon quietly hanging above everything. I actually didn’t notice it right away. I like that – just stopping, looking up, taking it in.
2. First attempt
I was close here. But not quite. A bit too far to the left. Or maybe I was standing too far right. Who knows. On the photo it’s just a few centimeters – I probably only needed to move one or two meters to the side...
3. That’s why ...
As you can clearly see here, the area was under construction. The fence went all the way around the corner. I couldn’t move any further left, or closer either. So I was simply too close – or too short, I guess.
4. Not tall enough
I pressed my back against the construction fence, lifted the phone, and tried to make something out of it. The moon’s barely visible, the tower doesn’t even have a clock, and there’s no room left on the left. I don’t like it at all. Composition-wise? Total failure.
5. That’s all I got
This is the best one out of nearly 30 photos I took. (I keep noticing: the more storage I have on my phone or camera, the more I overdo it. Ever since I’ve had 512GB SD cards or phone storage, this kind of thing just happens. And yes, I’ve had to delete plenty before.) At least you can see the clock here. The tower stands clear. But the moon is way too high. No one looking at this would say: “Hey, Chris clearly planned that.” Nope. Just looks like a photo of a tower with a moon.
BTW: All shots taken with the iPhone 15. Edited in Lightroom. Munich can be so beautiful – without construction zones.
Ich hatte eine Idee: Den Mond exakt über dem Turm platzieren. Ganz schlicht – eine Linie, ein Moment. War aber nicht drin.
Die beste Perspektive war durch eine Baustelle blockiert. Kein Durchkommen. Kein Zentimeter Spielraum. Also hab ich einfach ausprobiert, was ging.
1. Fast unbemerkt
Viele Leute, viel Bewegung. Der Mond hängt oben drüber, fast unbemerkt. Ich mag das – einfach stehenbleiben, hochschauen, festhalten. Hat tatsächlich auch erst mal etwas gedauert, bis ich das bemerkt habe.
2. Erster Versuch
Hier war ich nah dran. Aber halt nicht ganz. Ein bisschen zu weit links. Oder ich zu weit rechts. Naja. Auf dem Bild sind es nur wenige Zentimeter – mit dem Smartphone hätte ich vermutlich auch nur ein bis zwei Meter zur Seite gemusst ...
3. Der Grund ...
Wie man hier unschwer erkennen kann, wird renoviert bzw. umgebaut. Der Bauzaun ging einmal komplett ums Eck. Dadurch konnte ich nicht weiter nach links oder dabei auch nach vorne gehen. Damit war ich dann aber zu „nahe“ bzw. ich bin einfach zu klein.
4. Nicht groß genug
Ich bin mit dem Rücken an den Bauzaun, hab das Smartphone gehoben und versucht, daraus ein vernünftiges Bild zu machen. Der Mond ist nicht ganz sichtbar. Der Turm hat keine Uhr mehr und links ist ebenfalls kein Platz mehr. Gefällt mir also gar nicht. Von der kompletten Komposition her ein Reinfall.
5. Mehr war nicht drin
Das ist das Beste der knapp 30 Bilder, die ich gemacht habe. (Ich merke immer wieder: Die Anzahl meiner Fotos korreliert stark mit dem Speicher meiner Kamera oder meines Smartphones. Seitdem ich immer 512-GB-SD-Karten oder Speicher auf dem Smartphone habe, eskaliert das immer mal wieder. Ja, ich hab’s schon häufiger geschafft, dass ich einiges habe löschen müssen.) In dem Foto kann man nun wenigstens die Uhr erkennen, und der Turm steht frei. Allerdings ist der Mond zu weit oben, als dass man als Betrachter sagen könnte: „Ey, der Chris hat sich was dabei gedacht.“ Pustekuchen. Sieht aus wie ein Bild von einem Turm mit Mond.
BTW: Alles aufgenommen mit dem iPhone 15. Editiert in Lightroom. München kann so schön sein – ohne Baustellen.
