Hello champions I write to y'll again this time about a life changing lesson or experience I made some younger generations know.
This happened some time ago when I did a minor teaching job as a part time teacher because I had heard about the stressful experiences some teachers face teaching in a private owned secondary school, but I felt to give it a try for a short while knowing fully well I would leave anytime soon.
As a Junior secondary school one class teacher, they were two brilliant pupils in my class a boy and a girl who were constantly in struggle to be the overall best pupil, this then turned to a healthy competition amongst them and sometimes due to gender differences it became intensd and fun always with the fact that there was a massive promised gift by the principal, there was a moral boost.
There were always reading and studying because each one wants to top the class but then I noticed the funny division in the class, there was team boys, team girls and also team jealous hahahahaha you all thought it would be just two teams? Nope it's three teams the once that just don't like both always taking the glory. Ahh in my class?! Division ke? Chuckles. That can't happen while I was the teacher my goal is to pass knowledge and boost togetherness as a guardian but though it wasn't leading to negativity or fight amongst themselves, but as a teacher I was very watchful because kids they are prompt to react.
Then one particular day I started noticing when I ask a question the pupils will just wait for the two brilliant pupils to answer then they will support according to the team they all belong to. How funny that was, are you not eager to learn yourselves ? I asked they just murmured. Then for this reason I always tell the two of the two brilliant pupils to remain quiet letting others answer or sometimes I send them out to stay just close by the class let the rest pupils make attempts in solving or answering.
The attitude, lack of attentiveness and reluctancy of the class towards this two intelligent pupils was very concerning to me as the class teacher . It was concerning that the rest of the class never believed they can get any question right nor correct, they take this two pupils as a demi gods, and as their teacher I only don't teach I relate also, so understanding the angle the rest of the class was coming from I said No! This will hunt and affect this children splendid future.
So I faithful day I strategise a plan to directly tell the rest of the class they ain't small, they should stop looking less of themselves and be better, as usual I told the two brilliant pupils to go outside the class then I asked a simple but confusing question to the rest of the pupils they were giving different answers only few people got the answer correctly.
After they had finished giving their answers I called for the girl and ask her same question and she surprisingly got it wrong and then the boy which same thing happened he got it wrong but I didn't tell them yet who and who was wrong and right I did the psychological testing within myself. Pointing at the girl I asked "is she correct?" the team girls shouted "YES!" I said okay, I pointed at the boy and asked " is he correct?" team boys shouted a thunderous "YES!"
I was disappointed because some of the pupils that got the question correctly on the board has joined the crowd and follow either team boys or girls, they believed since their answer is different from the two brilliant pupils then they're automatically wrong.
Oh! What a mindset, I was clamoring on, so I broke the news to them that both of their answers were wrong I could remember how surprised the whole class was. I explain somethings that made the answer wrong and I sat all of them together and explain things in a diplomatic way, I taught them to trust their individual abilities and self instinct and not to be over confident on other people.
I was very glad I challenged them to always put in the best in thier studies so they can come as top candidates, I am the type that loves positive competition because it makes us as human grow tremendously.

Wow.. that was a good test @chizzy100
It was brilliant of you to take the children towards that route, sadly, allot of teachers don't pay attention to this minor issues which are very important for the general growth of the classroom..
Thank you for sharing this with us..
Exactly teaching also been observant is important for thier well being so they won't grow with a wrong mindset
That was a good test of mind and also it seems to point out that you can be as good as anyone as long as u study hard, pay attention and engage alot in study activities. Thanks for that @chizzy100
That test of mind was vital so that they won't have a weak mind set of not believing in themselves,Thank you so much sir @samarijr0
