EVEN AT DIFFICULT TIMES KEEP THE DICE ROLLING :- An Encounter.

Welcome back to my space, hope my writing meets you well. I had a emotional yet inspiring encounter with a driver who just recently started working as a transit transporter.
As we all youths are hustling,bustling and grinding so hard to secure the future we ought not to forget been prayerful, as the saying goes "work and pray" "pray without ceasing" negative forces of the world always look for bright stars to quench or take out.

Sometimes ago I went to the traveling park boarded a ticket heading to kaduna zaria precisely, at first the car wasn't available because not quite long the previous one got filled up and it left, then suddenly a nice black Toyota Sienna car parked and we were told he would transport us to our destination, we embark on the trip, sitting at the front passenger seat I noticed how quiet the driver was though to me it was the suspicious type but I was still observant bevause of the World we live in.

I could tell the vehicle wasn't a regular one used for transportation, he wasn't just the driver type of a person nest and we'll decorated just like a private or family only kind of car. Neither did I know there's something the driver was passing through that made him make such decision of using his car for road transportation means.

We go to a filling station and he needed to do a top up of fuel, then he saw me watching a video of some skilled fabricator and welders doing wonders on YouTube, it caught he attention which made him ask me if I had knowledge of what I was watching which I affirm positively, he shook his head in frustration like "he wished he learnt a skill" he began preaching and telling me things am elder had to tell young man like me especially now that I'm unmarried. He was like NEVER YOU GET TIRED OF LEARNING MORE on this skill if possible be a multi skilled person.

This is when he started narrating to us all his passengers his ordeal on what made he had to become a taxi driver when unfortunately life hitted him unexpected upon being a college graduate. Learn a skill and take your mind off the government for your sanity sake, except a great revolution takes place in our country.

The driver was a junior supervisor in a private company in Abuja just after a year when he's whole career went crashing down of something he had no idea of, probably a set up of some sort maybe being a obstruction to people who do negative things so they set you up just to get rid of you, he was targeted and shown the exit door. No pension, No benefit even after trying to know he fault while pleading he was given deaf ears, matters got worse for him because he is a father of two girls (a family man).

That thought of where will I go, what will I do, how will food be on my table as a family man, according to him it was devastating, with the high cost of foods and commodity, bills and so on, some dangerous thought set in but he was consoled by his companion not to give up and quickly find alternative.
That's how he had to use his car for road transit, not letting his little daughters know of he being sack was a nice idea according to him.

This is why being a skilled person is of added advantage and having more than one source of income is of higher benefit just in case , I repeat just incase.

At that moment I advised myself and I'm sure every other person sitting in the car did same inwardly. I must be a multi skilled person and I must put anyone that would make my companion to be an asset not a liability.
