Lesson learned from HIVE

I don't know if I'm well in the position to be sharing things that I have learned from being in this space. I do know, anyways, that all it takes is just one moment, one encounter, or even one post, to amass enough knowledge. And I know that we can learn from any place, at any time and in any situation, just as far as we open our minds to welcome new views, ideas, and knowledge.
It is widely said that knowledge is power, and I believe that. That is one thing that I have, maybe not learned from Hive, but which Hive has buttressed. It's one thing I could easily say has made more sense to me here. You know why? I'm not very active here. Today, I'm in, and then the next day, I'm out, only to show up in a week's time or two. But every time I clock in and read someone's article, I learn something. It's either I learn about culture, views, read strong opinions, or I learn many other things that I may never have heard of if I did not show up here. It I'd even made better when I read on topics used as writing prompts. I may have my view of things and I may have assumed that it's a general view, but reading another person's submission opens my eyes to another point of view and then when I read yet another person's submission, I'm presented with an entirely different view and I'm always left in awe at the many faces one small topic could take and how the human mind conceives thoughts differently.
I have not even read a single book in months. I don't see the news. Social media is all fun for me . And even when I choose to watch or read something that's informative or educative, I'm drawn to a particular genre. But Hive has not just taught me but helped me widen my scope a little. One certain time, I read something here and couldn't contribute meaningfully in the comment section just because I didn't have full knowledge of the subject. I learned a thing or two but couldn't have made a smart comment because the comment section was filled with people who wrote long texts and seemed to know much on the subject. I was embarrassed at myself, and it dawned on me how little my scope of knowledge is. I had to go read up.
Fast forward to some time in the future when a conversation like that came up amongst my folks, and I shared my thoughts. I swelled with pride at how much I shared, and I also gained stares of admiration and acknowledgments. It made me very happy, and it fuelled in me the energy to just learn something new and to especially not dwell on one field alone. So generally, I pursue knowledge and never stop.
