Vibes Web3 Competition,Week 37||Review on @brenique entry
It has always been part of me to make my entry within the stipulated time,But these past few months have been so uptight for me. I sincerely apologise for my late entry.
Firstly I have to thank all the judges ranging from @verbal-d to @silentscreamer for their tremendous act of service they always bring to make sure that vibes stands out to be one of the best music platforms on hive.
In today's entry I would love to share my opinion on @brenique performance for this week competition. At first I wanted to focus on her voice,Delivery and how it compares to the original but I must as well look into the flavour she added to it.
I don't know if it's just me or if other people noticed that she's a beautiful woman with such a charming smile. At first that I came across her entry for this week. A cover of At last by Etta James. I paused everything I was doing because It didn't just captivate me but made me to loose concentration on all that I was doing.
It wasn't just a song playing but a feeling.
The way she started,delivered the masterpiece like a pro.Her voice carried the weight of the moment perfectly from the first note to the very last,I could feel the emotions. She didn't just sing the song but replicated it in a way that looked more mind blowing with each step giving an honour to the original song.
Etta James originally recorded At Last in 1960. Since then, the song has become a classic, loved by people across generations. It is often played at weddings, anniversaries, and emotional moments because it speaks of joy, relief, and deep love. Covering such a song is never easy, especially when it holds such emotional weight. But @brenique stepped up to that challenge with confidence, care, and grace.
I have been wondering how she comes with the thought of doing the cover of good and unique songs. Her past entries have been wonderful 😊 and since I got to know her on hive,,She's been one of the best together with some other persons like @danielkuye ,@cenakeys and the rest. I always look up to their entries because they are always outstanding.
There’s also something unique about how she interprets At Last. While she honors Etta James’ style, she doesn’t try to copy her. She adds her own touch. That’s what makes this cover stand out. She brings a soft modern twist, a freshness that feels current but still timeless. In some places, she leans into a jazz-like smoothness. In others, she allows her raw emotion to come through more boldly, creating a balance between control and freedom.
Whoseover that has listened to At last by Etta James will totally come to agree with me that @brenique brought out the hidden beauty that lies in the song. She gave it a little touch and that's why I have always loved to engage in her presentation despite all odds.
This is a call to attention for anyone that hasn't listened to her or even engage in her entries. Do it now and I will be waiting for you in the comment section to serve me your piece about her. Thanks you all.
