A Technology that will Outlast humanity: The clock of long now

So guys ,I read something online that really got me thinking. Jeff Bezos, the man who started Amazon, is building a very special clock. It’s called the Clock of the Long Now, and it’s not like any clock we’ve ever seen. This clock is made to last 10,000 years.

Yes, you read that right ,ten thousand years maybe enternity.

Bezos is spending million of his own money to build it inside a mountain in West Texas, on his own land. The clock will run on natural energy ,heat from the Earth and sunlight are the source of energy. It ticks only once a year. It will ring a bell every 100 years. And every 1,000 years, a small mechanical bird (called a cuckoo) will pop out.

The clock is not just about time.

It is about thinking ahead in the Long term.

It’s about thinking far ahead not just about today, tomorrow, or next year.

to me , I feel it is like a way of asking us to have a clear thinking about how the future could be affected by the actions we take today.

To some people, they think this is all about a wealthy man spending his money in other to get the attention of the people, it could be part of it ,but not all.

But even if that’s true, the message behind the clock is still powerful. It’s a reminder that we don’t always have to rush. That we can slow down and think about the bigger picture.

Most things we build today don’t last very long. Our phones, our homes, even some roads fall apart after a few years. But this clock is made to last for thousands of years. That’s amazing.

This made me wonder: what are we doing today that will still matter in 100 years? Or 1,000 years? Are we building things that future generations will thank us for? Or are we only focused on quick results and short-term wins?

Whether you think this clock is a waste of money or a smart idea, it makes you stop and think and maybe that’s the point.

what is is your opinion, do you think Jeff bezos is trying to make his Mark on Earth or is he thinking long term,of maybe something we are yet to fully understand.
