Favorite songs in my local dialect
Hey guys, it's another edition of the AFRI-INLOE INITIATIVE, it's great to be back here today and most expecially considering the theme for this week's edition FAVORITE SONG IN YOUR LOCAL DIALECT. Well I don't think I have just one favorite songs so i'w be sharing with you quite a number of songs in my local dialect, and also, I'm an Igbo guy but I grew up in the north, so along the line I fell in love with somo of their songs which i'w also be sharing with us today.
Before I start mentioning the songs, first let's look at what songs in local dialect looks like. Definitely the lyrics of songs in our dialect are written in our local languages so the information is a bit encoded so that only people that can understand that language would understand the song. More also sometimes this songs are done in a general languages such a English and a local language but of course most lyrics would be done in the local language.
It's quite unfair or abnormal that some singers dislikes songs in their dialects or feel weird to sing songs in their dialect, weli I feel like it's thing of pride for me coz that's where I originated from, infact we should be more proud of our local languages coz every body have an origin.
And also you can't exclude songs in our local dialect when you talk of melody, those songs are just so full of Harmony, i feel like songs done in our local dialect captured the essence of music coz it's not just about the lyrics
Finally, songs in our local dialect are most times dedicated to the culturall activities or sometimes to the deity to which that culture worships.
Back to my favorite songs, the first of which I will be talking about is a popular song and it's gospel also, it was done in Igbo but also translated in English, the title is MADU NILE NASI EBUBE, which is English is EVERYBODY TESTIFIES OF GOD'S GLORY, I guess we can relate with the song coz it's a bit popular. Now I love this song because it's a song that speaks of the Glory of God which definitely is a praise song, and I've so much learnt to always praise God coz he'd love to do more when you praise him. And speaking of the melody, it's like an emotional song though it can be done in a praise manner, and most emotional songs are so melodious.
Before I talk about the second song, note that most songs done in our local dialect may not have any title but the most important thing about it is the message it's passing.
Well, i'w just give you a brief lyrics about the second song coz I don't think it has any title;
Chukwu ka m bu niye aha gi elu,
Nna ka m bu niye aha gi elu
okwere nkwa me ya ki bu
Well that's it for the lyrics and it's a song that praise God, the song can be interpreted this way "let's lift up the name of God coz he always does what he says"
The last song i'w be sharing today is a Hausa song and trust me it was done by my favorite artist KEASTRINGS, the title of the song because s HASKE, I guess most of us know the song coz it's not an ancient song 😂. My love for this song is attached to my love for KEASTRINGS music, it just pulls me off my feet.
That's all for my participation in this week's edition of the AFRI-INLOE INITIATIVE, hope to see you next week.

This topic is really a tough one. It made me realise that I do not actually have a favourite song in my dialect. I guess I am one of those that should try going back to their origin 😕. It's really the case that I do not know how to speak my dialect though, the only thing is .that most of my favourite artist do not speak my dialect 😀
You really need to go and learn dear friend.
Kudos👏
Nice entry
I also like the madu nile nasi ebube song aswell.
