CULTURE AND MUSIC, the perfect synergy as it was right from the onset.
I use to think that music was a product of the GenZ ππ, not until I was told in school that music is an ancient stuff. Everything creating as we believe has a sound attached to it and music on the other side is a harmony of different pleasing sounds, so let's first establish the fact that music is ancient.

Coming down to culture, I think music is one of the bedrock of culture, plus the fact that music is something everybody associates with and we all belong to a group of people with a certain culture, so definitely it shows that music (expecially in a certain system) is part of the key factors about culture.
As we all know, culture is the system in which people acknowledge to be their way of life, so it's one and the same LIFE but different ways in which it is carried out. In this concept, the word LIFE can also mean activities, yeah because every culture has it particular way of carrying out activities.
Music and culture has this coherent nature, you can't actually talk about culture without talking about music, infact this days, we often recognize different cultures by their songs or sound or system of music. Dancing is also co-factor of culture and of course you know that there's no dancing without music.
We were told that in time past, music played a very important role in different cultural activities, they used music to tell stories, they used music to pass out announcement, they used music for entertainment in events, music was a means of healing broken hearts unlike this days, na cruz people de use join back broken heart π.
So it's now clear to us that music and culture are like fused liquids, we often refer to such behavior as 5&6, that's how inseparable they are.
Music in Africa
Speaking of music in Africa, I've seen that music have been a means to envelope culture, I mean different cultures mostly have their activities tied around music, there's always a song for everything that is to be carried out, or a dance which is definitely stired up by a cultural song.
Infact coming down to my people, the igbos, I've seen scenes where different people communicate in musical language, sometimes it's funny but it's the fact, we just have music tied around everything we do, not even to talk about festivals, and cultural events.
Our people also believe that music brings them together as everyone can relate to it, it's like a means of uniting everyone, and the most enjoyable part of it is that everyone have a part to play in that kind of song, that's what makes it more fun to engage, it's not just one singer, you're either dancing or playing something to make melody.
Instruments are not left out in cultural music, right here in NASARAWA STATE I've seen a local instrument that looks like a guitar πΈ, it's pretty small that I wonder how the get to play it, well that's why it's a cultural instrument, it's just mysterious haha π.
