CHAPTER 2: SURVIVAL AND MANIFESTATION...

A few weeks after Bart and Iris lost their parents and got stuck in the heart of a forest in the middle of nowhere.
They noticed something different within themselves. It felt like they're connected to everything there is, and ever was. The air, the earth, the water, the trees, the birds, they all felt interconnected.
This was new to them, they've never felt that way before. To crown it all, they had no one to confide in, since they lost their parents to the crash.
At first Bart and Iris thought they could keep it a secret from them selves. Neither Bart nor Iris told each other what was going on with them, they wanted to protect each other, non of them wanted the other to worry about the others welfare. So they both pretended to be fine, little did they know that they both were going through the same thing. They thought to keep it a secret from each other, coincidentally. But Iris and Bart were even more connected to themselves than the where connected to other things. They could hear their deepest thoughts, if one gets hurt, the other feels the pain but with out physical injury. Eventually They both came to confide in themselves, they couldn't hide anything from each other and that made their bond grow very strong..

Days grew into weeks, The twins had no means to leave the forest, they couldn't find their way out. Although, Bart has been seeing this old man in his dreams, the man keeps trying to communicate with Bart in ancient Chinese, but Bart didn't understand the language fully. Iris on the other hand was an expert in different languages, including ancient Chinese. Bart did his best to tell Iris the words he remembered from the dreams, while Iris slowly made sense out of it.

After a while, Iris figured out what the man was saying, he was trying to guide them out of the forest safely. He said from where you are now, turn to your Direct left and then take 220 steps forward, then take another left turn and walk 110 steps before you turn right. When you turn right just keep on going straight, until you get to the road.
Bart and Iris set out for the road, with the coordinates from the old man, it was very easy to find the road. When they got to the road, it was empty. There was no single car traveling nor passing by, it was just empty. Bart and Iris knew that they wouldn't be able to leave the forest without a car. Their car was severely damaged in the accident that took the life of their parents. Even if the car was fine, they had no idea where they were, let alone, how to get out. They managed to make their way back to the big Ork tree, where they took refuge. They soon discovered that, the old man wanted them to see that there's no way out of the Forest. They had better start figuring out ways to survive inside the forest, else they die of starvation or die in other mysterious ways.

Meanwhile, the Fân mó tuán's didn't stop looking for Wei Chang and his wife.
They had one mission, to find Wei Chang and his family or anything related to him, and bring them to Chino. Chino's a small abandoned town where the fân mó tuáns have their base.

They intend to bring an end to all the gifted ones there is, and ever was. They believed, no one should have the powers only a god should possess. The Fân mó tuán's devoted their lives to finding and ending anyone with any trace of unnatural gifts. But they have failed to capture their main target, Lieu and Wei Chang, they where the first Gifted twins that ever existed. over the last 8 decades, the fân mó tuáns has tried to capture these twins but had failed woefully.
Bart and Iris came to terms with their reality. They are stuck in the forest, now they have to unlearn everything they knew about life, because life has taken a new turn, and has new things in store for them to learn.

That night while Bart was asleep, he had another dream about the old man, the dream was so real, Iris was in it as well. This time she interpreted the old man so Bart can understand.
The man introduced himself as Lieu Chang, and that he's their late Fathers twin brother.
Iris interrupted him angrily saying, you're not our fathers brother, you look nothing like him.
Lieu explained to them, that the people that ,were after his brother Wei, was also looking for him too. And that the reason why he doesn't look like their father is because, for a person to go into another persons dream with his or her true identity is quiet dangerous, especially if you weren't invited, or came without notice, the dreamer could subconsciously trap the dream walker in oblivion forever.
Iris asked what he meant by someone being trapped in oblivion forever. Lieu responded, that means the dream walker never wakes up from sleep.
Bart asked, does that mean death?
Lieu responded, yes in a way. The person is alive but cannot wake up from his sleep.

Bart asked Lieu, how can we trust that you're not telling us lies.
Iris added; yes you need to proof to us that you're our uncle.
Lieu said, your dad loves chilli pepper, he doesn't go any where with out his wân fú bracelet. He love to sleep on his left side. And lastly he has a birth scar on his back.

Bart and Iris began to gain some sense of trust towards him. Lieu said, he can get them out of the forest but only when they where ready.
Ready for what, Bart asked.
Lieu promised to explain it the next night, that it's almost dawn, and it's not safe for him in the dream world anymore.
He left, and Bart woke up, he found that Iris was up too, apparently she just woke up as well.
Bart; You saw him in your dreams too didn't you?
Iris; Yes, I think we were in your dream, (she said looking like she saw a ghost).
Bart; This is Crazy, how is any of these even possible?
Bart and Iris both sighed. They set out for the small stream where they always had their bath. After the bath, they got some fruits to eat for the day.

I'm so tired of eating apples and berries, Iris thought to her self. Bart looked at Iris, and Iris apologized "I'm sorry, I forgot we now share deep feelings. Bart said don't be, it's not your fault. They decided they would go hunting the next day, they use the rest of the day to build a house on top of the Big Ork tree, they figured that sleeping on the ground is dangerous, so de tried to make a shelter.

While they where at it, the branch which Bart leaned on to gain some balance while he was crafting the house broke, and Bart fell. He screamed so loudly, intense fear grabbed him and Iris, For the first time his gift manifested, some shield of some sorts, surrounded him like he was inside a big balloon. When he hit the ground, he was fine. He wasn't even bruised, he was shocked, terrified and amused all a the same time. Iris ran towards him to see if he was fine, and for a split second, she saw the Magic manifest.
Both of them were even more surprised. First it was a dream walker and now Bart's a magician.
Iris; How did you do that?
Bart; I'm not sure, I guess I just imagined it and then it happened.
Iris; Just like that?
Bart; that's all I'm sure I did, the rest just happened.
Well that's new, Iris said. I'm not sure I have that one yet. Bart replied, or maybe it has been there this whole time, we didn't just know about it.
They discussed while they continued crafting their house....
