I wouldn't want to interrupt nor expose her.
Imagine a moral dilemma (that is, you see someone steal or a friend tells a blatant lie to her parents about where she was last night) and explain what you would do and why you would do it.
When I was in primary school, I and my friend was going to school. On our way, two women who used to distribute bread with bicycle 🚲 met us on the way. We were almost late for school and we held their bicycles and started running alongside with them. Mind you, the location they met us were so lonely and filled with sands. As they were about coming down from their bicycle, we asked them not to rather we will help them push their bicycle. They felt relaxed and we were pushing it as we promised. Immediately they get to the major road, my friend stole a bread from the woman's basket and asked me to pick one from the other person's own. I didn't expose her neither did I do what she asked me to do. She asked me why I didn't pick up one bread from the woman's basket when we get to the school as my payback for pushing her bicycle? I told her it was against my conscience.
That I didn't expose her doesn't mean I supported what she did. I told her that what she did was wrong. What if she was cut? That might attract beating or disgrace to her. I let her know that stealing is not good for her as a woman and encourage her not to steal again. Why i told her this is because if her own good because she might repeat similar thing elsewhere and got caught. That's a big embarrassment for her and me too as her friend. Because they say, show me your friend and i will tell you whom you are. Si i don't want to be identified as a thief friend nor want mf friend to be disgraced because of stealing
Seeing my friend telling her parents balant lie where she was last night, i wouldn't want to involve myself in a family serious matters nor be the reason why my friends parents will reject her. So, i wont interfere immediately but later advice my friend. Remember, no matter how old we are, we are still a baby to our parents. First, I would dare to interrupt because doing that might bring a problem between us and make her parents not to trust her again. After telling her lies, in a calm way, I will tell her to always be free and open to her parents. Though telling her parents the truth might upset them or cause problems for her, I will advice her to be very careful and keep to time.
I will allow my friend to finish up with her parents. Then I will smile and call her brain washer hahaha. I wouldn't try to be judgemental because it has happened to me back then. Our parents love's us and wants us to be safe that's why they are too anxious to know our way about. I will advice her to be careful with her moments not to spend a night outside home. Reasons? It will make her not to lose her parents trust on her if they finds out that she has been deceiving them. I will also tell her to mind where she is spending her night and who she is spending it with.
My aim of doing this is to safeguard our friendship and her good relationship with her parents. Instead of sleeping outside home will be a problem between her and her parents, i will asked her to make necessary arrangements about her movement and if possible, let her parents know who her friends is, her movements for security reasons. Some have left home and couldn't come back alive. So, she should think of safety first by letting her parents know her whereabouts.

Stealing is a big NO for me, I don't even think I'll let her successfully steal that bread 😅
She stole the bread? Imagine she had been caught. You would have been implicated.
A very good stance you've taken dear friend. When we notice people doing the wrong thing, we're to correct them with love.
