Hello to all friends of #Hive 🙋🏻‍♂️, special to my dear friends of the @hivemotors community 🔧. I hope you are having a great day and everything is going super 😊 for you. Today I come to bring you a post about the brake change I made to my Dad's bike 😉. So let's get started.

We were lucky that we had an old bike in storage and it still had both good brakes 🚲. So I proceeded to take one of these brakes off to replace it, as my Dad's brake handle had broken 💥.

Hola a todos amigos de #Hive 🙋🏻‍♂️, especial a mis queridos amigos de la comunidad de @hivemotors 🔧. Espero que tengan un excelente día y que todo les salga súper 😊. Hoy vengo a traerles un post sobre el cambio de freno que le realicé a la bicicleta de mi Papá 😉. Así que comenzamos.

Tuvimos suerte de que teníamos una vieja bicicleta guardada y aún tenía ambos frenos buenos 🚲. Así que procedí a sacarle uno de estos frenos para cambiarlo, ya que la manija del freno de mi Papá se había roto 💥.

To start with this work we had to remove the old and damaged brake from the handlebar of the mountain bike rim 26 🚲. To do this we remove the handle and loosen with an Allen key the brake ⚙️. Before, we have to remove the “little dog” which is the metal part that is held to the brake mechanism and remove the brake 😮.

Para comenzar con este trabajo teníamos que retirar el freno viejo y dañado del manubrio de la bicicleta montañera rin 26 🚲. Para esto retiramos el mango y aflojamos con una llave Allen el freno ⚙️. Antes, tenemos que sacar el “perrito” que es la parte de metal que va sostenida al mecanismo del freno y retiramos el freno 😮.

And just as simple as that we put on the new brake for my Dad's bike 🤗. We put the little dog in place, adjusted the angle to fit and tightened with the allen wrench ⚙️. Since this brake is a little different, the brake pads had to be adjusted a bit on the bike wheel and that was it 🤩.

Y tan simple como eso colocamos el nuevo freno para la bicicleta de mi Papá 🤗. Colocamos el perrito en su lugar, ajustamos el ángulo para que quedara bien y apretamos con la llave Allen ⚙️. Como este freno es un poco diferente, se tuvo que ajustar un poco las pastillas de freno en la rueda de la bicicleta y listo 🤩.

The brakes on my Dad's bike are very different from other brakes I had seen before 🤔, as this one consists of a wire that when pulled by the brake line, actuates the pads so that they drag against the rim of the bike making it brake 🛑. Although it is a different brake, I simply had to loosen a little the nut that holds the pads and bring them 1mm or 2 closer to the rim so that they have a firm grip when braking 👌🏻.

This brake turned out excellent and my stepdad is very happy with the result 😊. He adjusted the brake pads for better grip and it was already tested on the track 🚴🏻‍♂️. It was 10/10 and my Dad certifies it hahaha 🤭. And so far, I hope you liked my post and have a great start of the week, without further ado I say goodbye 🤪.

Los frenos de la bicicleta de mi Papá son muy diferentes a otros frenos que había visto antes 🤔, ya que este consta de un alambre que al ser tirado por la guaya del freno, acciona las pastillas para que estas se arrastren contra el rin de la bicicleta haciendo que esta frene 🛑. Si bien es un freno diferente, simplemente tuve que aflojar un poco la tuerca que sostiene a las pastillas y acercarlas 1mm o 2 mas al rin para que tengan un agarre firme al momento de frenar 👌🏻.

Este freno quedó excelente y mi padrastro está muy contento con el resultado 😊. Se ajustó las pastillas del freno para un mejor agarre y ya fue probada en la pista 🚴🏻‍♂️. Quedó 10/10 y mi Papá lo certifica Jajaja 🤭. Y hasta aquí, espero que les haya gustado mi post y que tengan un excelente inicio de semana, sin más me despido, adiós 🤪.

Good thing you had that spare at home, so you were able to save a little money. From the experience you tell, it sounds like a simple job you did, however it is because you have experience. Glad you were able to fix it and everyone is happy with the result.

Qué bueno que tenían ese repuesto en casa, así pudieron ahorrarse un poco el dinero. Por la experiencia que cuentas, parece ser un trabajo sencillo el que hiciste, sin embargo es porque tienes experiencia. Me alegra que hayan podido solucionar y todos estén felices con el resultado.

Saludos @chettonito ya le tocaba cambiar el freno a la bicicleta, estar asi por alli es peligro aunque uno freno con los pies jeje, pero estas cosas lo genial es que uno mismo lo puede hacer
