SMALL YET MIGHTY PRACTICES FOR PHYSICAL WELLNESS
My friend and her mum, both my neighbors, would always ask if i ever fell ill. The mum in particular, whenever my friend or her siblings were sick and needed to be treated, would make reference to me, and she'd say she's never seen me fall ill. By the way, we were neighbors for, say, over seven years. In those years, I think I only went down with headaches, which, when I drank some water and slept for a while it went away. I may have fallen ill once or twice, but I bounced back real quick before anyone realized I was down. I don't know if it's something to brag about, but I say with certainty that I can tell the number of times I've ever fallen ill.
And I don't do anything extra. I eat what everyone does. In fact, I'm a picky eater who eats very little that I'm convinced I don't take as much balanced diet as my body requires, which is bad.
However, I am one who knows about the workings of her body. I pay so much attention to what works for my body, it's reactions and all of that. And maybe because I have this strong conviction of things as regards my body, it tends to work for me in that way, so I stick to it. You know how the mind works, yeah? That one.
I have these simple, everyday practices that I indulge in and have built a strong conviction that they aid in my physical wellness. Yes, they're basic, but many people tend to take them for granted, although we can all agree to their effectivity.
The first one is sleeping/resting. I'm not one who likes to sleep a lot. It's even difficult for me to fall asleep and stay so for long. But I can attest to how powerful a few minutes of the activity can boost and aid a person's body. The body is a powerhouse, but it requires adequate care to not break down. And sleep works like magic. Some time off for rest helps not just the physical but overall wellbeing. It calms the mind and rejuvenates the entire body.
Next up is hydration. Water, though basic, is a powerful drug. It promotes circulation and helps in revitalization.
When anyone asks how I'm mostly healthy and my skin is clear, I always attribute it to my intake of water. I can tell by how I feel or what my skin looks like when I'm dehydrated. I drink so much water in a day that anyone could easily say I'm taking too much of it. But trust me, I'm not.
It does not just end with intake of water. There's also refreshing feelings and vitality that come from taking baths. Especially cold baths. The body needs to always be cleansed, inside and out.
You see these two little acts, they're small yetmighty for general wellness.
Thanks for gracing this post.
