MY EMERGENCY EXIT TO-RESCUE

avatar

For once, one question that didn't leave me thinking much. Since so long, my little mind sometimes found ways to conjure up situations a this, and since that first time, I already knew what would be. I'm just glad my thoughts never manifested.

I was about eight years old when one of my big brothers called me into his room. When I got in, I met him standing beside the wardrobe. He pointed to a bag-a black and red colored backpack-and said, "you see this bag, in the situation of anything like fire outbreak or flood, infact, anything at all that you sense as danger, grab it and get out." At the time, I did not know what the bag's content was but I could tell that it was important. Thinking about it now, in my household, we all have that emergency-exit bag as I would prefer to call it.

My parents and siblings all own theirs and I have grown to know that in case of a disaster, I should go for them. They're mostly not in hidden locations and in just one bag for each person(save for my dad's) and I can manage to pull them all along. Those bags are highly important. They contain but aren't limited to school results, important financial transactions, property documents, official documents, IDs and passports, and other items. These are years of hardwork , time and resource input. Personally in mine, there are items that ordinarily any person would discard but which I have a sentimental attachment to. Evidently, documents/emergency file bags first.

The other thing I would go for would be my mum's photo album. It's not an album per say, it's just a big no-longer-in-use handbag she converted to a picture storage bag. In it are pictures dating from when she was very young, from when she met my dad, pictures of myself and my siblings from infancy through years of growth and until we unconsciously stopped taking paper images, pictures of friends and relatives, pictures of loved ones who are no longer here. So many pictures that holds important memories and tell our story. I would not think twice to get this out.

For the last spot, I had wanted to say that I would be dashing for my glasses, but it would definitely be resting on the bridge of my nose, plus, there are other things that should suffice. And so, the next thing would be my Phone. Half the things I do and even important documents, logins, etc are tied in there. I shouldn't even have to explain my going for this, cause who wouldn't??

In all of this, it should be noted that in cases of disasters, one may not easily process going in for what-and-what or even remembering what is important cause at that time there'll be so much fear, frenzy and thought-imbalance.
Sensibly, human life comes first but with the attention directed at "things," there you go!

Thanks for gracing this post.
Greetings!

Your phone should provide enough update for you based on what happened and ot will help you reach out to others to tell them what had happened.

Thank you for sharing
