LAZY AFTERNOON & A CUP OF BLISS

(Edited)

I'm that girl who believes that coffee should be taken alone, mostly. At least, that's what I do. The mere thought of something coming between the richness of my drink and altering it's taste is unwelcome by me.

The thing is, for everytime that I have had the drink, it walked me into moments of solitude. And the one time that I had it with toast, I didn't quite capture its true flavor. It got compromised.

For the next couple of weeks, starting yesterday, I would be having more free afternoons to myself. Just lazy afternoons characterized by writing, reading, practicing mindfulness, resting, finding myself and making sure to stay productive, which I can best achieve by staying awake and alert if I have my coffee drink nearby.
By tomorrow, I'd be going to get some groceries and packs of the Nescafe coffee drink which is essential to my having an awesome time this period.

Like I earlier mentioned, I do not like that some other taste, however sweeter or overpowering it is, comes between me and the flavourfulness of my coffee drink. So, I take it alone.

In the afternoons when I need to take my drink, I have a pretty, little, non-cumbersome routine. I take the drink over reading a book. There's just something about leaning into a very comfortable sofa, all covered up(as i like), book on the left hand, coffee placed to my right hand side, getting lost in the awesomeness of some good work, and having sips of coffee to help swweeten the experience. Oh, now I look forward to this afternoon. My moments of pure bliss.

Usually I dislike interferences while I read but somehow, I find a way to make an exception for coffee given that it has always proven to intensify concentration, interest and my mental-imaging of the scenes in the book.
And so, i enjoy reading a book complimented with a nice, sweetened, generously-creamed cup of coffee. The smell and aroma completely compliment the feeling of presence and exploring a new world and thought process as you navigate from page to page. As basic as soaking in the smell of the pages of a book and the aroma of coffee is highly pleasurable to me, i tell you.

Coffee not only helps me to focused, also, there are a nice range of boosts that add up to a nice little turbo-charge while I'm at it. Reading is one of my fqvourite things to do. With coffee, it's terrific!

But, if I'm not reading on one of my lazy afternoons, the next best thing which I do is...nothing. I mean, I practice mindfulness. When I'm at it, it's important that there are no background sounds or noise to disrupt my thoughts. I usually do this out at my patio, just stay silent making no movements save for lifting my cup of coffee to my lips. It's soothing. Very tastebud and nerve-appealing. There's usually no goal in mind asides to sit out and enjoy my coffee as I like to while taking advantage of the moment to not just listen to my environment but also to appreciate it.

However, at the end of those few minutes, I always feel renewed. It's always like a declutter, detox and refill session for me. Very packed, and I relish it! Nothing else matters in those moments.

That's typically how a lazy afternoon with coffee goes like for me.

Thanks for gracing this post.
Greetings!

Practicing mindfulness is always possible with a cup of coffee as you enjoy the blissful and silence atmosphere. Sipping coffee can help relax one and keep one focused while meditating on life in general.

What if your hand gets shaky and the cup if coffee pours on you and the sofa? Lol 😂 I'm imagining weird things.

I get jealous at people that read or write while on coffee treat.

Aroma of coffee with the smell of book pages, that's a fascinating combination of smells.

To be immobilized for a while, I do it a lot and just recently I asked myself if I was the only one who did that and I'm glad to have found an answer here, I guess many of us do it.
