I barely had good knowledge on what politics was(mostly, all I knew was that we had a president ruling the country and governors for each state in the country), before I started to hear that politics is a dirty game.

If there were other positions too, they held little power and value in my little mind. Growing up, the talks surrounding politics and 'the game' were mostly negative. Stories about how these people perpetuate evils like belonging in secret cults, kidnapping humans, performing sacrifices and even killing in order to achieve their own interests which was the seat of power were told. Consequently, there were always talks about money laundering and thievery and lies after they had gotten into office. Whether these stories were true or not, I did not know but they were paddled around.

Hearing these things over and again, at different points, from different individuals, in turn, informed my thoughts. They influenced it. And although I was the child who had some doubts about those kinds of extremities, a part of me believed.

How wise and logical is it that i[we) complain about bad leadership, tell what we know is the remedy to a better society yet do nothing and pass on a chance to effect the change we speak of often?
While I seldom thought of what it would be like to be in such position(s) of power, I still didn't think I would want it. Then, I'd grow older to realize and see the game a little differently. Unsure and unbelieving of the extreme measure stories, I still get to learn that the game was tough. It required a lot and it took a lot.

Everyone of us would likely say that we would keep it sane and fair if we venture into the poll but in truth, we know how the quest can be so demanding and depending on individual goals, desperate-driven.

Ever noticed how crazy and sometimes, terrible, school politics can be? Now compare that to the more power-giving national politics.

In general, I stay afar from any semblance of power- or position tussle. I've seen them happen so many times, I know how they can be. Positively and negatively.
However, if I could, I would go in for the fight(it's a war). I might not be game to go dirty and roll in the mud. After all, I've seen some who didn't have to do too much.

If I had to just about anything to get into office, then I have become like one of the other politicians who I heard ill stories of and who I came to despise. It might make little difference that I get to enact many changes but had had to come in dishonorably

It's bizarre that I strive for a good cause but the means by which I come are unbecoming. I cannot do anything to get to power. Anything means "Any thing," sho get?

But then, if I had the opportunity to contest, I would. Start from the grassroots, get to know the people. Be seen. Be know. Be heard( all for good reasons). Being out of the political fold, I could say I know a bit of what the people want. They're not asking too much. Just for leaders that hear them, that listen to them and answer them.

Of course, it's not as easy as said here. There's a lot more. Lots of pressure and opposition, especially. I consider that I should be prepared in all respects before joining in the race so that nothing sways me.
