3 INVITATIONS & JUST ONE POSSIBILITY // LOH #235

Hello, amazing ladies.
Today, i will be writing on the prompt that reads;

You received an invitation to three special occasions, but they all fall on the same day and at different locations - a wedding of your cousin, a huge family reunion, and your best friend's wedding anniversary. Where would you go and why?

This is tough. A tough question to answer, I mean. Because, stating the obvious, these are important events to happen which I'd not want to miss. However, I realize I can not be everywhere at once, particularly if these events wouldn't all be taking place in the same city where I can shuffle between them, spending just an hour at one before moving to the next.

The first option got me a little confused. What I mean is, isn't my cousin a part of my family? Shouldn't all my family be at the wedding, which would even be a more fun and celebratory mood to reunite in? But then, it could be the wedding from my either of my parent's side and the reunion from the other.

You know one thing, I would really have loved to be part of these functions and to be a part of the memory. But since it's almost impossible, I'd tell you where I'd go.
Guess?
Okay, that will be to the family reunion.

I don't want to try to justify not going to celebrate my cousins big day nor why i can't be at my own best friend's wedding anniversary(which I really hope I was present at the wedding) cause no excuse I give will suffice. None that I've tried to conjure makes sense enough in my head.

I'm big on family. The older I've gotten, the more apart in the location myself and my family have gone. We're all too busy and far apart that even digital communication doesn't bridge the gap for me. It doesn’t even come halfway to the warmth and peace i have experienced from being with/amongst my own people. It's not very often that we get to see each other and it's so occassional before we're all together as a group, talking, laughing, banting, playing games, singing and just catching up. And I really look forward to a reunion. Just like old times.

And to have us all in one space, even just for a few hours? I don't see myself not being present and a part of that memory. It's something I can't ditch. Something I long for. And maybe, hopefully, my cousin and my best friend would understand.

Thanks for gracing this post.
Greetings!

It only makes sense to be at the family reunion, especially when you have not seen many of your relatives in a long time. Thank you for participating in the week's prompt :)

I thought a good solution is to have a wedding at the reunion. The families are present, though it may not be more casual atmosphere, what better way to start the new couple off by saving much of their expenses and put it towards their future home? Unless they insist on formal.
