Whispers of the Ocean: The Tide Takes Our Worries Away

Introduction to the Life of Moxie.png

My partner and I have been fighting battles only the two of us knows. And recently, we have faced something beyond the ordinary, which left us crying and looking for answers. But as days passed by, we learned to let go and let things be. We decided to go to the beach to breathe for a while, and reflect on our lives in the past few months.

There’s really something about the beach that quiets the noise inside me. The moment my feet touch the warm sand and feel the sun on my face, I could feel a shift in my surroundings, and feeling at peace for quite some time. I walk slowly on the seashore, letting the grains of the sand slip between my toes, the sun embracing my skin, and the salty vibe of the blue ocean felt like wrapping around my whole being.

Each time I visit the beach, it feels like the world gives me permission to pause and breathe from all the chaos. I watch the waves roll in, hear the rhythm of the wind, and I find comfort in between them. The tide always reminds me of the calm and stormy days, but moving forward is the only choice we have.

We brought come foldable camping chairs, and set them up just at the edge of the water. We could feel the water on our ankles – warm and calming. And from our feet, the warmth went straight to our hearts. That’s when we felt our worries being carried away as the rolled back in to the ocean again.

The disappointments, unanswered questions, and unspoken fears began to drift away. And they did not feel too heavy anymore. It felt like everything was manageable. As we sat down watching the ocean, and the changing colors of the sky, we also saw other people doing the same thing as we do. And a question came to my mind, “are they also finding peace and comfort in the ocean?”. Maybe yes, and maybe their thoughts also mirror ours.

We stayed there for a while. Bought some good foods, and had conversations about life. It was a day filled with the best deep talks about our goals and how we see ourselves in the next years.

When we finally decided to go home, we spend a few more minutes staring at the ocean. Letting out everything that’s left inside of us. It may not fix everything, but the time we spent here to breathe and relax made everything perfect.

The ocean atmosphere can make us calm. Maybe because anyhow when facing the huge waves and the wind we feel how small we are and that the world is not turning around us and our problems, that our problems are smaller and less important than we thought ... and that's what allows us to relax ...?
