The Joy of Midday Moments: Making Family Meals More Fun & Memorable

Every Sunday, it feels like a special day for preparing good foods for the family. It is not a tradition, but we already got used to it throughout the years. We are always thinking of what meals to prepare during lunch time, and we are always eating together as family.

Weekend has always been the perfect moment for all of us since everyone is home, from the kids to adults. No classes, and no work for the day. That is why we always cook good portion of food every time. And today, I will be sharing one of them with you all.

It was another Sunday morning, and my Papa brought home some Pork and Vegetables to grill. We marinated the pork, and prepared the cooking method we will use which is through charcoal. We cooked the eggplants while waiting for the pork to absorb the marinade.

After 30 minutes, we started cooking the pork and we could smell the aroma coming from the smoke. It was exciting for us and the kids since it's one of our favorite viand, and we do not usually eat this at home due to the efforts needed in cooking. We grilled the pork while putting some sauce to make it tastier.

After cooking the pork for almost an hour, we also sliced some white onions and tomatoes for our vegetable side dishes. They are perfect when partnered with fish sauce.

We set them aside in another plate, so everyone could get as many as they want. We separated them from the pork since the kids may not like the vegetables for their side dish.

When everything was already setup, we bought some soda for our drinks to make the moment even more perfect. Of course, we will never forget the white rice. We got them all prepared for this special day of the week.

Then, we organized everything in the table, and even thought of having some appetizers as well. We grabbed some ripe Indian mangoes from our neighbor, and sliced them into thin pieces. Everything was perfect, and we shared these good foods with the whole family. We ate together, and enjoyed every bite on these tasty foods!
