Seaside Views: A Road Trip Along San Narciso’s Coastline
I have always been a fan of the beach, especially when the spot has a place where good food is offered. It always feels like hitting two birds with one stone – being in a beautiful place and simultaneously satisfying our tastebuds.
We have been on the coastal road of San Miguel Beach in San Antonio, Zambales. And we wanted to go somewhere new – to discover new foods and places. Recently, my wish was granted by my partner. We visited the newly constructed coastal road in La Paz, San Narciso. It was just across the beach, and we had heard of the different street foods being sold around.
After a few minutes of riding, we hit the town of San Narciso. As soon as we got on the coastal road, we did not regret our decision, as we were welcomed by the breeze coming from the beach and the different food stalls on the road.
Since it was still around 4:00 in the afternoon, the food stalls were not open yet, and they were only preparing their spots. Also, only a few people were going around. We took advantage of the idea that the coastal road was not crowded yet, and we spent some time driving around to check out other spots.
We got excited because of the number of food stalls available, but we had to check out which to buy from. There was a spot for traditional Filipino street foods, like Fish Balls, Kikiam, Lumpia, and Shanghai. Different kinds of drinks were also available.
Then, we drove a different way and came to a spot where stalls were selling rice meals. Most of them were Shawarma Rice, and the most famous was the “samgyeopsal in a bowl,” which allowed someone to taste Korean-style food served in a single bowl.
In addition, sweet drinks are also sold around the corner, starting with Fruit Shakes and Milk Tea. We knew all this because we saw their food menus in front of their stalls.
After strolling around the food stalls, we drove towards the beach. Once you have bought enough food, it is a perfect place to wait for the sunset. But we drove towards the beach to wait for the stalls to open. It was around 5:00 in the afternoon when we sat down facing the sea. Some stalls were already starting to sell, but our attention was caught by a stall that was not open yet.
A few people are on the coastal road, looking at the beach just like us. And when it’s almost 6:00 in the evening, the stalls are already opening up individually. That’s when we grabbed the chance to buy the foods we wanted – but it’s in another blog to share.
